THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Manawatu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL
Bridges Loan, 1947, £10,000
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Manawatu, taken on the 17th day of January, 1948, on the proposal of the Manawatu County Council to borrow the sum of £10,000 to provide the cost of renewing six bridges on county roads within the County of Manawatu—

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Manawatu, taken on the 17th day of January, 1948, on the proposal of the Manawatu County Council to borrow the sum of £45,000 to provide the Council’s share of the cost of construction, reconstruction, and sealing of main highways within the County of Manawatu as follows : Longburn–Tangimoana Highway (Kopane Bridge to No. 1 Highway), Rongotea–Rangiotu Highway, Foxton–Shannon Highway (Foxton to Shannon Bridge)—
