Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946.—Port of Portland (Whangarei) Waterfront Industry Suspension Order 1948

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Port of Portland (Whangarei) Waterfront Industry Suspension Order 1948.

  2. Such of the provisions of Wilson’s (N.Z.) Portland Cement, Limited, Cement-workers’ award, dated the 9th day of October, 1946, and published in 1946 Book of Awards, page 1352, as relate to the unloading or discharging of ships or boats, shall be and they are hereby suspended in respect to their application to the Port of Portland (Whangarei).

  3. With the exception of the sections of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and its amendments specified in the Schedule hereto, the provisions of the Labour Disputes Investigation Act, 1913, and of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and its amendments, shall be and they are hereby suspended in respect of their application to the workers engaged in the unloading or discharging of ships or boats at the said Port of Portland (Whangarei).

  4. This Order shall come into force on the day of the date hereof.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

W. J. McLean, 67 Alpha Street, Cambridge, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at 67 Alpha Street, Cambridge.

The Blenheim Co-operative Dairy Factory Co., Ltd., has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump installed on factory premises, Main South Road, Blenheim.

J. R. Park, Goodwood, Palmerston, Otago, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Goodwood.

L. G. Christie, 4 Waione Street, Petone, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump installed outside garage premises at 4 Waione Street, Petone.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 19th February, 1948, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
