APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A DRY RACE
UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1926
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned, the Trustees, Executors, and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, of Dunedin, Trustee Company, hereby applies for a licence for a dry race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for : 10.20 a.m. ;
6th November, 1948.
Date and number of miner's right : 20th July, 1948 ; 86680.
Address for service : Care of Messrs. Bodkin and Sunderland, Solicitors, Alexandra.

SCHEDULE
LOCALITY of the race, and of its starting and terminal points ; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise : Commencing at a point in Frenchmens Gully (sometimes known as Portugese Gully) on applicants' freehold Run 238E, Wakefield Survey District, 8 chains east of old Cromwell-Tarras Road ; then in a northerly direction for 1 chain crossing private road ; then in a westerly direction skirting swampy area and recrossing private road, and crossing public road in existing pipe for 9 chains, terminating in applicants' leasehold.
Length and intended course of race : 10 chains east to west.
Points of intake : Over-run water from irrigation under Licence Nos. 1304, 1305, and 1331.
Estimated time and cost of construction : Already constructed.
Mean depth and breadth : Depth, 1 ft.; width, 1½ ft.
Number of heads to be diverted : Up to two heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used : Irrigation.
Proposed term of licence : Forty-two years.

ROLL OF HONOUR published in 1924 by the DEFENCE DEPARTMENT, giving
(1) A list of members of the lst New Zealand Expeditionary Force killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.
(2) Those who died after discharge from the lst New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service up to 31st December, 1923.
(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the lst New Zealand Expeditionary Force of New Zealand.
Price, 3s 6d., postage free.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the day preceding publication.
