Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of November, 1948
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the "Berwick Rural Fire District"; and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on State forest land situated in the said area as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted; and doth hereby specify the period between the first day of August in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district; and doth hereby prescribe that the said district shall be administered by the Commissioner of State Forests for the purposes of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.-SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
Berwick Rural Fire District
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Bruce County, containing approximately 18,000 acres, situated in Block X, Waipori Survey District, Blocks II and XV, Maungataua Survey District, Blocks VI and X, Table Hill Survey District, Blocks VII, VIII, IX, and X, Clarendon Survey District, and Blocks XI and XVII, Waihola Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Boundary Creek; towards the east generally by the south-eastern side of the Berwick-Clarendon Road to the south-western boundary of Section 33, Block VII, Clarendon Survey District; thence by Section 33 aforesaid and the shore of Lake Waipori to a point opposite the north-eastern corner of Section 6, Block XVI, Waihola Survey District, and by that section to the Berwick-Clarendon Road, and by the eastern side of that road and by Section 2, Block XV, Waihola Survey District, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; towards the south-east generally by Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII, Clarendon Survey District, Section 1, Block XII, Waihola Survey District, and Sections 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, Block X, Waihola Survey District; towards the south generally by Section 23, Block VIII, Clarendon Survey District, to a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 24, Block VIII aforesaid, and by the southern side of that road to its junction with another public road traversing Section 30, Block VI, Table Hill Survey District; thence by the south-western side of that road and by Section 32, Block VI, Table Hill Survey District; and towards the west generally by the Tokomairiro River, Section 6, Block X, Table Hill Survey District, and by the production of the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to Boundary Creek. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 215/10, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.-SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
Naseby Rural Fire District
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Maniototo County, containing approximately 15,100 acres, situated in Blocks I, II, V, VI, VII, and VIII, Naseby Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-east by Deep Stream to a point due north of Trig. Station K in Block II, Naseby

Survey District; thence by a right line to Trig. Station K aforesaid and by Run 575; towards the south-east by the crossing of a public road, and by the south-eastern side of that road; towards the south generally by Section 76, Block I, Naseby Survey District, a water-race reserve, Section 81, Block I aforesaid, and the Borough of Naseby; towards the east by the Borough of Naseby; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of the Naseby-Ranfurly Road; towards the south-west by the crossing of the last-mentioned road, by Sections 12 and 20, Block VI, Naseby Survey District, by the crossing of a river-bank reserve, by Sections 5, 4, and 13, Block VI aforesaid, by the crossing of a public road, and by Sections 33 and 31, Block VII, Naseby Survey District; towards the north-west by a right line from the north-western corner of Section 31, Block VII aforesaid, to Trig. Station C in Block V, Naseby Survey District; thence by a right line to the point of intersection of the West Eweburn with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block V aforesaid; and thence by the West Eweburn to a point due west of Trig. Station J in Block V aforesaid; towards the north by a right line to Trig. Station J aforesaid; and again towards the north-west by a right line bearing 60Β° to Deep Stream. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 176/16, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Tuapeka and Clutha Counties, containing approximately 85,000 acres, situated in Blocks I, II, III, V, X, XI, XIV, XVIII, XIX, XX, and XXI, Crookston Survey District, Blocks IV, VIII, XI, and XII, Glenkenich Survey District, Blocks II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII, Rankleburn Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the east by Section 10, Block I, Crookston Survey District, a public road, and the Clutha River; towards the south-east generally by Sections 20, 35, 36, 37, 40, and 11, Block VI, Rankleburn Survey District; thence by the southern side of a public road forming the southern boundary of Sections 5 and 2, Block VI, Rankleburn Survey District, by Washpool Creek to Camp Hill Road; thence by the southern side of that road and the southern and south-eastern sides of a public road traversing Lot 11 of Clydevale Estate, and by the aforesaid Lot 11 to the Pomahaka River; towards the south and west generally by the left bank of the Pomahaka River; again towards the west generally by the Waipahi-Tapanui Railway Reserve, by Sections 56, 58, 59, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 43, 91, 93, 99, 92, 96, 95, 97, and 94, Block XI, Glenkenich Survey District, Section 18, Block XIV, Glenkenich Survey District, Sections 22, 25, 24, 23, 16, 13, 11, and 9, Block VIII, Glenkenich Survey District, Section 24, Block IV, Glenkenich Survey District, by the land shown on L.T. plan 2034, and by the western side of Cameron Road; towards the north-west generally by the northern side of Sheddon Road, and by the western side of a public road forming the eastern boundary of Sections 18 and 16, Block IV, Glenkenich Survey District, by Section 21, Block IX, Rankleburn Survey District; thence by the western side of Anderson Road, by Sections 6s, 4s, and 3s, Tapanui Settlement, and by the north-western sides of the Rae's Junction-McNab Main Highway, George Road, and another public road; and towards the north and north-east by the northern side of a public road. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 204/57, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
