WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £75,000, authorized to be raised by the Waitara Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of duplicating and improving the water system of the Borough of Waitara, the said Waitara Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven and one-eighth pence (11½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Waitara, comprising the whole of the Borough of Waitara; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five (35) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Waitara Borough Council held on the 13th day of October, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order made by the Honourable Mr. Justice Fleming on the 17th day of September, 1948, it was ordered that the regulations for the administration of the fund directed by the will of the above-named Amelia Bullock-Webster to be used for providing retiring pensions for the Clergy of the Christchurch New Zealand Diocese and to supplement pensions already enjoyed when judged to be insufficient (named “ The Robert and Elizabeth Watson and Amelia Bullock-Webster Fund ”) approved by order made on the 28th day of August, 1936, and amended by order made on the 5th day of June, 1945, be further amended in the manner set out in the said order.

The orders are filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Christchurch.

FUREY AND ASSOCIATES, LIMITED

NOTICE OF MEETING OF CREDITORS

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of FUREY AND ASSOCIATES, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that by entry in the minute-book of the company, pursuant to section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, dated 1st day of November, 1948, it was resolved—

“ That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up; secondly, that JACK GOLDSMITH O’SULLIVAN, Public Accountant, of Wellington, be appointed liquidator.”

A meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the offices of John Murphy and Co., Prudential Buildings, Lambton Quay, Wellington, on the 11th day of November, 1948, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to act as liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

1st NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, 1914–18

ROLL OF HONOUR published in 1924 by the DEFENCE DEPARTMENT, giving—

(1) A list of members of the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service up to 31st December, 1923.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force of New Zealand.

Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
