BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-

"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of four thousand six hundred and fifty pounds (£4,650), authorized to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying the balance owing at maturity of the Sewerage Loan, 1938, of £8,000, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (ld.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Special Rating (Sewerage) Area of the Borough of Birkenhead; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable half-yearly on the lst day of March and the lst day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Birkenhead Borough Council at the meeting held on the 6th day of October, 1948.
