Fixing the Dates and Places for Payment of Land-tax and Income-tax
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of October, 1948 Present : His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in him under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, and the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and determine that the duties leviable under the said Acts by way of land-tax on land held by taxpayers other than companies and income-tax shall be paid on the days and dates set forth hereunder :-
Land-tax under section two of the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1948 : In one sum on Friday, the fourteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.
Income-tax under section three of the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1948 : In one sum on Wednesday, the ninth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.
And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the said duties of land-tax and income-tax shall be payable at any office of the Land and Income Tax Department or at any money-order post-office, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the Commissioner of Taxes accordingly.

Notice of Intention to Issue an Order in Council Revoking the Reservation Over the Lauder Domain, Otago Land District
WHEREAS by section forty-one of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council, but subject to compliance with the requirements of subsection two of section seven of the said Act, declare that the land comprised in a public domain or part thereof shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act ; and, further, may declare either that such land shall be a public reserve for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, or Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1924 :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is known as the Lauder Domain, but is not required for domain purposes, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of section forty-one of the said Act declaring that the Lauder Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act, and shall be deemed to be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.--LAUDER DOMAIN All that area containing by admeasurement 94 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less, being part of Section 2, Block III, Lauder Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/291A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 9479.)

Officers Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Reorganization of the Territorial Force
Army Department, Wellington, 11th October, 1948. HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, of the reorganization of the Territorial Force and the disbanding of units of the National Military Reserve as set out hereunder. Dated 8th October, 1948 :-
- All units of the National Military Reserve are disbanded. 2. All units of the Territorial Force, except those listed in the first column hereunder, are disbanded. 3. The units listed in the first column are redesignated, or amalgamated and redesignated, to form the units listed in the second column, or are retained without alteration.
