Authorizing the Purchase by the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board
of the Electric Works of Leo Keys, of Kohukohu, Theatre-
proprietor

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of
October, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards
Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth
hereby authorize the purchase by the Bay of Islands Electric-power
Board of the electric works, the property of Leo Keys, of Kohukohu,
Theatre-proprietor, on the terms of an agreement bearing date the
twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
eight, and made between the said Board of the one part and the
said Leo Keys of the other part.

Amending Licences authorizing the Westport Borough Council to use
Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity, and to erect
and maintain Electric Lines

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of
October, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend, as set forth in the
Schedule hereto, the Order in Council dated the twenty-third day
of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and
published in the Gazette on the twenty-sixth day of the same month,
authorizing the Westport Borough Council to use water from Christ-
mas Creek, Lake Creek, and Lake Rochfort, for the purpose of
generating electricity, and to erect and maintain electric lines within
the area of supply therein described, the Order in Council dated the
ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, and
published in the Gazette on the tenth day of the same month at
page 2097, authorizing the Westport Borough Council to lay, con-
struct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area of supply
therein described, and the Order in Council dated the eighteenth
day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and
published in the Gazette on the nineteenth day of the same month
at page 1566, authorizing the Westport Borough Council to lay,
construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area of
supply therein described.


SCHEDULE

(1) THE Order in Council dated the 23rd day of February, 1925,
and published in the Gazette on the 26th day of the same month,
is hereby amended by deleting clause 13 of the Schedule, and
substituting therefor the following clause:—

“13. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

“The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a),
(d), (e), and (f) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935. The generating voltage shall be approximately 420 volts
between terminals, which may be transformed up to 11,000 volts
between phases for transmission purposes. The primary distri-
bution voltages shall be 11,000 volts and 6,600 volts between
phases.”

(2) The Order in Council dated the 9th day of July, 1941, and
published in the Gazette on the 10th day of the same month at
page 2097, is hereby amended by deleting clause 3 of the First
Schedule, and substituting therefor the following clause:—

“3. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

“The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a),
(d), (e), and (f) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935. The primary distribution voltage shall be 11,000 volts
between phases.”

(3) The Order in Council dated the 18th day of December,
1945, and published in the Gazette on the 19th day of the same
month at page 1566, is hereby amended by deleting clause 4 of the
First Schedule, and substituting therefor the following clause:—

“4. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

“The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a),
(d), (e), and (f) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935. The primary distribution voltages shall be 11,000 volts and
6,600 volts between phases.”

Revoking a Licence Authorizing Leo Keys, of Kohukohu, Theatre-
proprietor, to Erect Electric Lines in the Kohukohu Town
District

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the
licensee, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the twenty-
seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-
four, and published in the Gazette on the thirtieth day of the same
month at page 2741, authorizing Leo Keys, of Kohukohu, Theatre-
proprietor, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines
within the Kohukohu Town District, as amended by the Order in
Council dated the tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-nine, and published in the Gazette on the eleventh day
of the same month at page 1441.

Consenting to the Assignment to Elizabeth Mooney, of Newton Flat,
Widow, of the Rights, Powers, and Privileges Under an Order
in Council Authorizing Thomas Mooney, of Newton Flat, Hotel-
keeper, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity,
and to Erect Certain Electric Lines

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby consent to the assignment
to Elizabeth Mooney, of Newton Flat, Widow, of the rights, powers,
and privileges under an Order in Council dated the eighth day of
December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, and published
in the Gazette on the sixteenth day of the same month, at page 1491,
authorizing Thomas Mooney, of Newton Flat, Hotelkeeper, to use
water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain
electric lines.

Determining the Number of Representatives of the Borough of Queens-
town on the Otago Central Electric-power Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby determine
that the Borough of Queenstown, being a constituent district of
the Otago Central Electric-power District, shall have one repre-
sentative on the Otago Central Electric-power Board, and that
the total number of members of the said Board shall accordingly
be increased to ten.

Fixing the Date and Places for Payment of Social Security Charge
Payable by Companies

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of
October, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested
in him under the Social Security Act, 1938, and the Social
Security Contribution (Companies) Regulations 1943, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby order and determine that the social
security charge payable by any company on its chargeable income
for the income year ended on the thirty-first day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, shall be paid in one sum
on Wednesday, the second day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-nine.

And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authority as aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as
aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the said social
security charge shall be payable at any office of the Land and Income
Tax Department or at any money-order post-office, and that notice
to the aforegoing effect shall be given by the Commissioner of Taxes
accordingly.
