Consenting to Land being Taken for the Purpose of a War Memorial
in Block III, Waimana Survey District, Whakatane County

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1948
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
P URSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in
the Schedule hereto being taken for the purpose of a war memorial.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land permitted to be taken:-

Being
0 1 0 Allotment No. 27 of the Village of Waimana, and
being the whole of the land comprised and described
in Certificate of Title, Volume 291, folio 65 (Auckland
Land Registry).

the whole of the land comprised and described in
Certificate of Title, Volume 220, folio 49 (Auckland
Land Registry).

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £25,000 by the Southland
Catchment Board and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1948
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the Southland Catchment Board (hereinafter called
the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control
Act, 1941, to raise a loan of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000),
to be known as “Plant Loan, 1948” (hereinafter called the said
loan), for the purpose of purchasing plant;
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board
Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act,
1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him
in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local
authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount
of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000), and in giving such
consent doth hereby determine as follows:-
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may
be raised shall be eight (8) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the
said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce
to the lender a rate exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.)
per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest
thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual instalments
extending over the term as determined in (1) above.
(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after
the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

Catchment Board and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1948
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the Manawatu Catchment Board (hereinafter called
the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control
Act, 1941, to borrow the sum of seven thousand pounds (£7,000),
by a loan to be known as “Plant Loan No. 2, 1948” (hereinafter
called the said loan), for the purpose of purchasing plant;
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act,
1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932
(No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in
this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local
authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount

Borough Council's Loan of £41,250 and Prescribing the Conditions
Thereof

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1948
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the Whangarei Borough Council (hereinafter called
the said local authority), being desirous of raising a loan
of forty-one thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£41,250), to
be known as “Whangarei Borough Milk Loan, 1947” (hereinafter
called the said loan), for the purpose of providing funds for the
payment of purchase-moneys under the Milk Act, 1944, constructing,
erecting, or acquiring land, buildings, plant, machinery, or other
appliances or works required for purposes under the Milk Act, 1944,
has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans
Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act):
And whereas consent has already been given to the raising of a
portion of the said loan amounting to thirty-one thousand two
hundred and fifty pounds (£31,250), and the said local authority
is arranging to raise a further portion amounting to eight thousand
three hundred pounds (£8,300) (hereinafter called the said sum),
and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-
General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given
to the raising of the said sum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on
him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out in section twenty-
nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the
raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said sum
for the said purpose up to the amount of eight thousand three
hundred pounds (£8,300), and in giving such consent doth hereby
determine as follows:-
(1) The term for which the said sum or any part thereof may be
raised shall not exceed twenty (20) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said
sum or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the
lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds five shillings
(£3 5s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said sum or any part thereof shall be repaid by the
half-yearly redemption of debentures in the half-years set out in
the first column of the Schedule hereunder of the amounts stated
opposite each such half-year in the second column of the said
Schedule.

(4) The payment of interest and redemptions in respect of the
said sum shall be made in New Zealand.
(5) No amount payable either as interest or as a redemption in
respect of the said sum shall be paid out of loan-moneys.
(6) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procura-
tion fees in respect of the raising of the said sum or any part thereof
shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount
raised.
(7) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the
expiration of two years from the date hereof.
