BOROUGH OF CROMWELL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Cromwell Borough Council Housing Loan, 1946, £9,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Cromwell Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of finding the interest and other charges on a loan of £9,000 (nine thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Cromwell Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the acquisition of land and the erection of workers’ dwellings thereon, and/or such other purposes as are permitted by Part XXVII of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933 (or other enabling Act), the said Cromwell Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence (6d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all property of the Borough of Cromwell, comprising the whole of the Borough of Cromwell; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and to be payable yearly on the 31st March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 (twenty-five) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the North Shore Fire Board proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision of a fire-brigade station—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Secretary to the said Board, situated at the Council Chambers, Hauraki Street, Birkenhead, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary at the Council Chambers, Hauraki Street, Birkenhead.

ALL that piece of land containing 6 acres 3 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Lots 3 to 6 (inclusive) of Section XI on a plan lodged in the Deeds Registry Office at Auckland under No. ‘F. 17, and being part of Allotment 75 of the Parish of Takapuna, and the whole of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 553, folio 188, and Vol. 553, folio 189 (Auckland Registry), limited as to parcels.
