A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section thirty-five of the Public Works Act,
1928, L., Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land
subject to the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown land :
9 acres o roods 4-7 perches.
Being parts Lot 2, D.P. 3343, being part Rural Sections 1637,
1637x, and 1773, part Lot 3, D.P. 3343, being part Rural
Section 1773, and part Lot 2, D.P. 5859, being part Rural
Section 1773.
Situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District (Canterbury
R.D.). (S.O. 7950.)
In the Canterbury Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127648, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 13th day of September, 1948.

Revoking Exemption of Land in the Borough of Thames from Mining

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the twenty-eighth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three,
and published in the Auckland Provincial Government Gazette on
the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, at page 261, the lands more particularly described in the
Schedule hereto were exempted from occupation for mining purposes
or for machine-sites or for business or for residence :
And whereas it is desirable that such exemption should be
revoked :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section
seven of the Mining Act, 1926, do hereby proclaim and declare
that as from the date of the publication of this notice in the New
Zealand Gazette, the said Proclamation dated the twenty-eighth
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, is
hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE
All that parcel of land in the Borough of Thames, situated in
Block IV, Thames Survey District, being part of Opitomoko Block,
and being an area of I rood, known and described as Partington's
Battery-site in Auckland Provincial Government Gazette No. 43 of
the Ist day of November, 1873, page 261 : Bounded towards the
north by a line bearing 69° 57' distance 153 links; towards the
east by a line bearing 168° 33' distance 207 links ; towards the south
by a line bearing 260° 05' distance 127 links; and on the west
by the Tararu Road. As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked Mines 6/4/2, deposited in the Head Office
of the Mines Department at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of September, 1948.

Pursuant to the Cook Islands Act, 1915, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the clause numbered
nine of the regulations as to education made under the said Act on
the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
and published in the Gazette on the fifth day of the same month at
page 3169.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street (Extension of Rotherham Street),
in the City of Wanganui, of a Width Less than 66 ft. but not Less
than 40 ft.

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Wanganui
City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described
in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet but not
less than forty feet.
SCHEDULE
THAT proposed street in the Wellington Land District, City of
Wanganui, containing by admeasurement 20.23 perches, more or
less, being part of Section 21, Right Bank, Wanganui River, and
being part of Lot 22 on D.P. 2400. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127564, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
September, 1948

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the
Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Hastings Borough Council
to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the
Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less
than forty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part
of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting such
street within a distance of forty-eight feet from the centre-line of
the said street.
SCHEDULE
THAT proposed street in the Hawke's Bay Land District, Borough
of Hastings, containing by admeasurement I rood 10.2 perches,
more or less, being part of Subdivision E of the Heretaunga Block,
and being also part Lot 52 on Deeds Plan 218. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127673,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.

Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the additional land described
in the Schedule hereto being taken for a public school.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of additional land permitted to be
taken: 2 acres 10 perches.
Being Allotment 28 and part Allotment 27, Parish of Okura.
Situated in Block XI, Waiwera Survey District (Auckland
R.D.). (S.O. 34821.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127670, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured yellow.
