Approving the Term of the Licence granted to the Shell Company of
New Zealand, Limited, for a Tramway across Cambridge Street
in the Borough of Levin

At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of
January, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Tramways Act, 1908, and the Tramways
Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby approve of the term of the licence granted for a period of
twenty-one years from the eighteenth day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-seven, by the Levin Borough Council to
the Shell Company of New Zealand, Limited, authorizing the said
company to construct and maintain a private tramway across
Cambridge Street, in the Borough of Levin, the position of such
tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked
P.W.D. 67561, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
Wellington.

The Waimate Milk District Constitution Order 1947

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of
December, 1947
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the
Milk Act, 1944, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth
hereby order and declare as follows:—

  1. This order may be cited as the Waimate Milk District
    Constitution Order 1947.
  2. The Borough of Waimate is hereby constituted and declared
    a milk district under the Milk Act, 1944, as from the twenty-third
    day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, with
    the name of “Waimate Milk District”.
  3. The Milk Authority of the said milk district shall be the
    Waimate Borough Council.

Authorizing the Waimarino County Council to sell Timber upon
Portion of the Oruakukura-Karioi Road, in the Waimarino
County

PURSUANT to section one hundred and forty of the Public
Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby authorize the Waimarino County Council to sell or
contract to sell and remove timber upon portion of the Oruakukura-
Karioi Road adjoining the southern boundary of Sections 3 and 4,
Block XII, Makoutuku Survey District, and the northern boundary
of Section 7, Block XVI, Makoutuku Survey District. As the same
is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126140,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and
thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 23rd day of January, 1948.

Land temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the
Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General
may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral licence,
any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in
the Auckland Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 4, Block VI, Tarawera Survey District: Area, 9 acres
0 roods 10 perches, more or less. (Auckland plan S.O. 33376.)

Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

of section 6 of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and of Article 33
of the Royal New Zealand Naval Regulations, has cancelled the
commission in the Royal New Zealand Navy of Lieutenant James
Bradley Myles for misconduct.

quishment of temporary rank of officers of the 2nd New Zealand
Expeditionary Force (Japan Section), vide List No. 79, dated 6th

Major J. W. McMurray, R.N.Z. Inf., to be temp. Lieutenant-
Colonel whilst acting as C.O., 2 Bn., N.Z. Regiment. Dated 1st

Lieutenant J. W. Beaumont, R.N.Z. Inf., to be temp. Captain
whilst employed as Adjutant, 2 Bn., N.Z. Regiment. Dated 30th
December, 1947.
