Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes
of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act,
1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area
described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality
for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person
driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place,
to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum
speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE
Situated within Taranaki County-
All that area adjacent to New Plymough Borough, consisting of
that portion of Carrington Main Highway No. 426 com-
mencing at its junction with Huatoki Road, and ter-
minating at the southern boundary of New Plymouth
Borough as now constituted.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice of
Intention to Take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
16th day of March, 1949, as the date on which possession of the
land is required, and the 7th day of October, 1948, as the date on
or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the
said Act.

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block II, Drury Survey District,
containing by admeasurement eighty-seven (87) acres one (1) rood,
more or less, being all of the land on Deposited Plan 20446, being
part of Karaka No. 4 Block, and being all of the land described in
certificate of title, Vol. 460, folio 235 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block II, Drury Survey
District, containing by admeasurement three hundred and eighty-
one (381) acres three (3) roods twenty-one (21) perches, more or
less, being Lot 2 and part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 9131, being
parts of Allotments 8 and 9, Karaka Parish, and being all of the
land described in certificate of title, Vol. 353, folio 230 (Auckland
