THE following notice, received by the Right Hon. Minister of Finance from the Mayor of the Borough of Akaroa, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

Result of Ratepayers' Poll to Raise a Loan of £1,950
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Akaroa, taken on the 30th day of July, 1948, on the proposal of the Akaroa Borough Council to borrow the sum of one thousand nine hundred and fifty pounds (£1,950) for the formation and metalling Watson and Penlington Streets and extending the water-supply and sewerage in Watson, Penlington, and Muter Streets—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 38
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 6

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF PAPATOETOE
Street-sealing and Plant Loan, 1947
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Papatoetoe, taken on the 4th day of August, 1948, on the proposal of the Papatoetoe Borough Council to borrow the sum of £21,300, for the purpose of sealing and improving all unsealed streets in the borough and purchasing plant for street-sealing and maintenance work—

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 294
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
