Lake County Council Required under the Town-planning Act, 1926, to Prepare and Submit to the Town-planning Board an Extra-urban Planning Scheme for the Township of Frankton and Its Environs

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At Government House at Wellington, this 11th day of August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Lake County Council is the responsible authority within the meaning of the Town-planning Act, 1926, of a certain rural area as defined in the said Act—namely, the Lake County:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor-General is of opinion that settlement is taking place within a certain defined area within the rural area aforesaid—namely, the defined area described in the Schedule hereto—at such a rate that the preparation of an extra-urban planning scheme is deemed advisable in the public interest:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section twenty-five of the Town-planning Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby require the Lake County Council to prepare and submit to the Town-planning Board before the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, an extra-urban planning scheme in respect of the said area described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Land District comprising approximately 1,330 acres; situated in Blocks I, XX, and XXI, Shotover Survey District, and the Town of Frankton, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the production of the south-eastern side of a public road forming the south-east boundary of the Borough of Queenstown meets the shore of Lake Wakatipu; thence north-easterly along the south-east side of the said public road to the southernmost corner of Section 75, Block XX, Shotover Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the generally south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 75, part of Run 32, Sections 64 and 63, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, Section 36, Block XXI, Shotover Survey District, and part of the said Run 32, to and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 32 aforesaid to the southernmost corner of Section 28, Block XXI, Shotover Survey District; thence generally easterly along the generally southerly boundaries of the said Section 28 and Section 22 to a public road forming part of the western boundary of Section 120, Block I, Shotover Survey District; thence southerly along the western side of the said public road, to and across the Milton-Queenstown State Highway, Block XXI, Shotover Survey District; thence north-easterly across a public road, and along the south-eastern side of the highway aforesaid to a public road forming the south-western boundary of Section 66, Block I, Shotover Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of the said public road and its production to a point in the left bank of the Kawarau River, Block I, Shotover Survey District; thence generally westerly along the left bank of the Kawarau River and the northern shore of the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu to the point of commencement.

Land temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Otago Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for quarry purposes.
SCHEDULE
Otago Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 13 acres 1 rood 4.5 perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, Block VII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the southern boundary of Section 25, 1117.5 links from the south-western corner of that section; thence towards the north by said Section 25, 548.4 links; towards the north-east and north by other part of aforesaid Section 26, 421.3 links and 246.1 links respectively; thence towards the south-east by right lines bearing 208° 09' 125.3 links, bearing 198° 59' 30" 254.2 links, bearing 183° 19' 332.4 links, bearing 184° 36' 386.3 links, bearing 218° 25' 399.2 links, and bearing 199° 36' 225 links; towards the south by Section 31, 380.7 links; and towards the west by a right line bearing 180° 00' 2004.4 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/113c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
