At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of
August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion
of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the
date of this Order in Council, become Government road.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the portion of road declared to be Government
road : 20 acres O roods 20 perches.
Passing through Sections 221, 90, 96, and 97 (Square 89), and Rural
Section 37263.
Situated in Blocks IX and X, Lowry Peaks Survey District
(Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 7681A.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126641, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

Upper Hutt, Exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the
Public Works Act, 1928, Subject to a Condition as to the

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of
August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section one hundred and twenty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
approve of the following resolution passed by the Upper Hutt
Borough Council on the twentieth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-seven, in so far as it affects the side and portion
of street described in the Schedule hereto, viz.:-
"That the Upper Hutt Borough Council, being the local
authority having control of the streets in the Borough of Upper
Hutt, by resolution declares that the provisions of section
one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928,
shall not apply to the western side of portion of Ebdentown
Street fronting subdivision of Lots 57, 59, 61, and 63 of
Miscellaneous Deeds Plan No. 3, being part Section 121, Hutt
Registration District";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall
at any time be erected on the land fronting the western side of the
portion of Ebdentown Road (described in the Schedule hereto)
within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the
said portion of street.
SCHEDULE
The western side of all that portion of street situated in the
Wellington Land District, Borough of Upper Hutt, known as
Ebdentown Road, fronting Lots 57, 59, 61, and 63 on a plan attached
to Deed of Grant No. 23830 (39/141), registered in the Deeds Registry
Office at Wellington, being part Section 121, Hutt District. As the
same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 126423, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Block VII, Waimate Survey
District, Taranaki Land District

At the Government House at Wellington, this 11th day of
August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a
reserve duly set apart for a site for an agricultural and
pastoral society showgrounds: And whereas it is expedient that
the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a
reserve for recreation purposes :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a)
of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reserve
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve
for a site for an agricultural and pastoral society showgrounds to
a reserve for recreation purposes.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
appoint
Bartholomew John William Murphy,
Charles John Gilmour,
Frederick John Hendry,
Charles William Fletcher, and
William Claude Fletcher
to be the Whangamomona Domain Board, having control of the
land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint
Wednesday, the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-eight, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the
Whangamomona Public Hall, Whangamomona, as the place where,
the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
