Price Order and Licence Applications




Price Order No. 917 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of
the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 917, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128* (hereinafter
    referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 16th day of August, 1948.
  3. The Second and Third Schedules to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 911†, are hereby revoked, and the following
    Schedules substituted therefor respectively:

    Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences under Part III
    of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
    Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
    Burnett Jones (trading as Forrest and Jones), 28 France Street,
    Newton, Auckland, has applied for a licence to manufacture men’s,
    women’s, and children’s Roman sandals and woolly boots and
    slippers by the machine-sewn and fair-stitched processes.
    Felt and Textiles, Ltd., C.P.O. Box 848, Wellington, has applied
    for an extension of the existing licence at Myrl Shoe Company (N.Z.)
    so as to permit manufacture by the fair-stitched process.
    Flax-milling (Phormium Tenax) Industry
    L. A. Niederer, Private Bag, Invercargill, has applied for an
    extension of his existing licence so as to permit the milling of flax
    in the Wellington District in the area south of Levin.
    Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
    Hector Norman Brown, Massey Street, Reporoa, has applied
    for a licence to resell motor-spirit otherwise than through pumps
    ex the Rotorua depot of the Atlantic Union Oil Co., Ltd.
    Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
    materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
    these applications should, not later than 26th August, 1948, submit
    any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.

    CROWN LANDS NOTICE
    Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
    District Lands and Survey Office,
    Blenheim, 9th August, 1948.
    NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is
    open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act,
    1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and
    Survey Office, Blenheim, up to noon on Monday, 13th September,
  1. Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
    Courthouse, Kaikoura, on Tuesday, 14th September, 1948, at
    2.30 o’clock p.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may
    be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of
    Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce for inspection
    when examined documentary evidence of their financial position.
    The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
    examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required
    to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising
    the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit
    on account of weighting for improvements.
    SCHEDULE
    MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND
    Kaikoura County.—Mount Fyffe Survey District
    SECTION 12, Block IX: Area, 32 acres 3 roods 27 perches. Capital
    value, £400. Deposit on deferred payments, £20: Half-yearly
    instalment on deferred payments (34½-year term), £12 7s. Renewable
    lease: Half-yearly rent, £8.
    Weighted with £1,673 for improvements, comprising large
    concrete homestead in poor condition, stables, looseboxes, wash-
    house, all in very fair condition, a good garage, fencing, plantations,
    orchard, and ornamental trees.
    This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit
    of £173, the balance may be payable by half-yearly instalments
    of £44 10s., principal and interest, over a term of thirty-six and a
    half years.
    The section comprises first-class level land situated on the
    main highway, approximately four miles south of Kaikoura.
    Approximately 25 acres good pasture, balance in plantations,
    trees, and orchard. The section is ideally situated near the sea
    for use as a camping-ground, guest house, or stud farm.
    Any further information required may be obtained from the
    undersigned.
