SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the County of Amuri known as the Hanmer Town Area, situated in Blocks I and II, Lyndon Survey District, and bounded by lines commencing at a point on the east bank of the River Chatterton, and being the north-west corner of Section 9, Hanmer Plains Reserve; thence north-easterly by a straight line to the north-east corner of Section 24 of the said reserve; thence south-easterly along the north-east boundary of that section and by a line in continuation thereof to and across Jollies Pass Road; thence easterly along the south side of that road to a point 64Β·1 links distant west from the north-east corner of Reserve 3941; thence south-westerly generally along a line 50 links north-west of and parallel to the south-east side of Reserve 3941 to a public road; thence south-westerly along the north-west side of that road to the Christchurch-Hanmer Road; thence south-westerly along the south-east side of that road to the Woodbank Road; thence north-westerly along the south-west side of that road and its continuation to the east bank of the Chatterton River; thence northerly generally along the said east bank of the Chatterton River to the point of commencement.

Nomination of Persons Qualified for Appointment as Assessors in Criminal Trials under the Cook Islands Act, 1915

P URSUANT to the authority vested in me by section two hundred and ninety-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, I, Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the nomination of persons qualified for appointment as Assessors in criminal trials in the High Court of the Cook Islands, made by Warrant gazetted in New Zealand Gazette No. 30 of the third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, at page 453, in respect of persons in the Island of Niue, and in lieu thereof I hereby nominate the persons named in the Schedule hereto as persons qualified for appointment as Assessors under the said Act generally in criminal trials in the High Court of the Cook Islands in the Island of Niue, and I declare that this Warrant shall take effect on the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Dunedin City Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Dunedin City Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :-

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.
  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.-EVANSDALE GLEN SCENIC RESERVE
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 30 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or less, being Sections 88 and 89 and part of Sections 62 and 63, Block I, Waikouaiti Survey District. As the same is described in the Schedule to a Proclamation dated the 13th day of February, 1912, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 13, page 705, of the 15th day of February, 1912.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 12 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 96, Block I, Waikouaiti Survey District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 9th day of August, 1948.
