At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of
July, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in
the Schedule hereto being taken for street.

Increasing Borrowing-powers of Hamilton Fire Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of
August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty-one of the Fire
Brigades Act, 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act), that
the Governor-General in Council may, on the application of any
Fire Board established under the said Act, extend the powers of that
Board to borrow moneys in excess of the limits fixed by the said
section:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the twelfth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published
in the Gazette on the twentieth day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-seven, at page 335, the powers of the Hamilton
Fire Board were extended, but not so as to exceed the sum of
twenty-one thousand pounds:
And whereas application has been made by the Hamilton Fire
Board for further extension in the borrowing-powers of the Board
and it is desirable to grant such request:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that the
powers of the said Board to borrow moneys in excess of the limits
fixed by the said section thirty-one are hereby extended, but so as
not to exceed the sum of twenty-three thousand pounds; provided
that no moneys as aforesaid shall be borrowed except subject to the
provisions of the said Act and its amendments.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Okauia Domain

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of
August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
forty-eight of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
appoint
The Matamata County Council
to be the Okauia Domain Board, having control of the land
described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint
Thursday, the twelfth day of August, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-eight, at twelve o'clock noon, as the time when, and
the Matamata County Council Chambers, Tirau, as the place where,
the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-OKAUUIA DOMAIN
All that area in the Matamata County, situated in the Okauia
Settlement, containing by admeasurement a total of 4 acres, more
or less, being Sections 1B and 1D, Block III, Tapapa Survey District.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1/1192, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Replacing a Member of an Assessment Court under the Valuation
of Land Act, 1925

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, and its amendments,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Clarence Bertram
Idle, of Sumner, Farmer, to be a member of the Canterbury Rural
Assessment Court in place of William Osborne Rennie, resigned.

Street, in the Borough of Thames, exempted from the Provisions
of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a
Condition as to the Building-line

August, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section one hundred and twenty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby approve of the following resolutions passed by the
Thames Borough Council on the eleventh day of November, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, viz.:-
"The Thames Borough Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the Borough of Thames, by
resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred
and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not
apply to the north-eastern side of that portion of Martha
Street adjoining all that piece of land situated in the Borough
of Thames, containing eighteen perches and four-tenths of a
perch, more or less, being Lots Three Hundred and Five,
Three Hundred and Fifty-four, and part of Lot Three Hundred
and Four of the Kauaeranga Blocks Nos. 1 and 3, and being
the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate
of Title, Volume 559, folio 154 (limited as to parcels), of the
Register-book in the Auckland District Land Registry";
"The Thames Borough Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the Borough of Thames, by
resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred
and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not
apply to the north-eastern side of that portion of Martha Street

eight, Two Hundred and Eighty-eight A, Two Hundred and
Eighty-nine, Two Hundred and Ninety, Two Hundred and
Ninety-one, and part of Lots Two Hundred and Eighty-seven
and Three Hundred and Thirty-four A of the Kauaeranga
Blocks Nos. Seven and Eight, and being the whole of the land
comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 559,
folio 171 (limited as to parcels), of the Register-book in the
Auckland District Land Registry";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall
at any time be erected on the land fronting the north-eastern side
of the portions of Martha Street first and secondly described in
the Schedule hereto or the south-western side of the portion of
Martha Street thirdly described in the Schedule hereto within a
distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portions
of street.
