The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Lands

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 29th October, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 30th August, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing one thousand nine hundred and sixteen (1,916) acres and three (3) roods, more or less, being parts of Sections 1 to 12, Block XCII, Sections 1 to 11 and parts of Section 12, Block LXXXVIII, Sections 1 to 10 and 12 and part of Section 11, Block LXXXIV, parts of Sections 10 and 12, Block LXXVI, and parts of Sections 1 and 2, Block LVII, all of Clutha Survey District, and also part of Section 3, Block IV, Pomahaka Survey District, being part of Lot 2 on plan numbered 4074 and part of the land shown on plan numbered 2842, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Dunedin, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 245, folio 42, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).

Also all that area containing nine (9) acres three (3) roods twenty-nine (29) poles, more or less, being a closed road-line between Blocks LXXXIV, LXXXVIII, and XCII on the north-east, and Blocks LXXXIII, LXXXVII, and XCI on the south-west, all of the Clutha Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 151, folio 66 (Otago Registry).

Also all that area containing twenty-one (21) acres one (1) rood thirty (30) poles, more or less, being closed roads between Block IV, Pomahaka Survey District, and Block LVII, Clutha Survey District on the north-east, and Blocks LXXXIV, LXXXVIII, and XCII, Clutha Survey District on the south-west, and between Blocks LXXXVIII and XCII and between Blocks LXXXIV and LXXXVIII, all of Clutha Survey District, and being the balance of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 79, folio 32 (Otago Registry).

NOTICE is hereby given that on 21st July, 1948, the under-mentioned specifications were declared to be standard specifications by the Minister of Industries and Commerce pursuant to section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941:—

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licences under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

Gentry Slippers, Ltd. (by John J. Hall, Public Accountant, Dunedin), has applied for an extension of its existing licence covering the manufacture of slippers by the machine-sewn (Blake) process, to permit manufacture by the auto-soling process.

F. J. Morgan, 18 Auckland Road, St. Heliers, Auckland, has applied for a licence to manufacture men’s, women’s, and children’s sandals by the fair-stitched process.

Peter Pan Nursery Shoes, Ltd., 20 Bay Road, St. Heliers, Auckland, has applied for an extension of its existing licence so as to permit the manufacture of infants’ felt slippers, sizes 0–6.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

E. J. Brown, 134 Selwyn Street, Timaru, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed outside garage and service-station premises at the corner of Selwyn and Essex Streets, Timaru.

A. Smith, Frankton R.D., Queenstown, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station premises at the junction of the Kingston–Queenstown and Cromwell–Queenstown Roads, Frankton.

P. Norris, 10 George Street, Te Awamutu, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station premises at the corner of Ohaupo and Bond’s Roads, Te Awamutu.

A. D. McKenzie, Taupo, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed outside garage premises on Lake Front Road, Taupo.

E. R. Sims, 77 Mount Albert Road, Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at 77 Mount Albert Road, Auckland.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 12th August, 1948, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
