Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1947, the Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, doth hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and doth hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 29th day of July, 1948.


SCHEDULE

WIRI BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA

ALL that area of land lying within the Manukau County, and bounded by a line commencing at the point on the Manukau Harbour foreshore at the mouth of the Puhinui Creek; thence following the Manukau Harbour foreshore in a north-westerly direction to the mouth of the Pukaki Creek; thence following the eastern bank of the Pukaki Creek upstream to the mouth of the Waokauri Creek; thence following the eastern bank of the Waokauri Creek upstream to the north-western corner of Section 52, Block X, Otahuhu Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction along the northern boundaries of Sections 52, 51, and 48, Block X, Otahuhu Survey District, to the Papatoetoe Town District boundary; thence following the Papatoetoe Town District boundary in a generally north-easterly direction to the Great South Road; thence following the Great South Road in a generally southerly direction to the point of junction of this road with that of Redoubt Road; thence following along Redoubt Road in a generally south-easterly direction to the south-western corner of Section 92, Block XI, Otahuhu Survey District; thence in a straight line across country in a westerly direction to Trig. 681, located in Section D.P. 6594, Block XI, Otahuhu Survey District; thence in a straight line across country in a south-westerly direction to the point where the Main Trunk Railway crosses the northern boundary of the Manurewa Town District; thence in a straight line across country in a south-westerly direction to the point on the Manukau Harbour foreshore at the mouth of the Puhinui Creek, being the original point of commencement.

Notice of Result of Poll on the Proposal to raise Loan

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Wairoa, taken on the 30th day of June, 1948, on the proposal of the Wairoa Borough Council to borrow the sum of £71,400 for the Sewerage Loan, 1947—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 330
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 84
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Price Order No. 909 (Amendment No. 3 of Price Order No. 370) (Prunes)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 909, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 370* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 23rd day of July, 1948.
  3. Price Order No. 840† is hereby revoked.
  4. The principal Order is hereby amended by omitting clause 3, and substituting the following clause:—

“3 (1) This Order does not apply with respect to canned prunes or to prunes grown in the territory of the Union of South Africa.
“(2) Except as provided in the preceding subclause, this Order applies with respect to all dehydrated fruit that is sold or offered for sale under the name of ‘prunes.’”
