THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VIII, Turanganui Survey
District, for Broadcasting Purposes (Transmitter-station Site)
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a transmitter station for broadcasting purposes—and for the purposes of such public work the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken:
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the Chief Post-office at Gisborne
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land,
set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of
Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
10 acres.
Being part Kaiti 314 Block.
Situated in Block VIII, Turanganui Survey District (Gisborne
R.D.).
In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127244, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Whangarei Survey
District, for Broadcasting Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a radio-transmitting station—
and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken
is deposited in the post-office at Kamo and is there open for
inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the
said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they
have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
32 acres 2 roods 13 perches.
Being part Allotment 2, Parish of Whangarei.
Situated in Block V, Whangarei Survey District.
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127366, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

Notice of Intention to take Additional Land in Block III, Kapiti
Survey District, for an Aerodrome
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the additional land
described in the Schedule hereto for an aerodrome: And notice
is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Paraparaumu and is there
open for inspection, and that all persons affected by the taking of
the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to
the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of additional land required to be
taken: 5 acres 2 roods.
Being part Ngaraa West B No. 4 Block.
Situated in Block III, Kapiti Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127303, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Lands
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
1st day of February, 1949, as the date on which possession of the
lands is required, and the 30th day of July, 1948, as the date on or
before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said
Act.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
All that parcel of land situated in Blocks I and IV, Tiritiri Survey
District, containing by admeasurement seven hundred and fifty-five
(755) acres five (5) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited
Plan 18121, being Allotments 2, 3, 4, and 221, and part of Allotment 237, Waiwera Parish, and part of the land on Deposited
Plan 2187, being part of Allotment 237, Waiwera Parish, and being
all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 411, folio 56
(Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks I and IV, Tiritiri
Survey District, containing by admeasurement three hundred and
five (305) acres sixteen (16) perches, more or less, being part of
Allotment 6, Waiwera Parish, and being all of the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 585, folio 266 (Auckland Registry), limited
as to parcels and title.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said
Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the
said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 2 on the
16th day of January, 1947, at page 34:
And whereas objections were made by the owner and the
occupier in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to
the taking of the said land:
And whereas the owner did claim the right to retain part of
the said land:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice
of intention to take the said land:
And whereas the occupier did withdraw his objection to the
taking of the said land:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objection
made by the owner was referred did on the 1st day of July, 1947,
make an order disallowing such objection:
And whereas an appeal was made against such order by the
owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the Land Sales Court did on the 9th day of October,
1947, make an interim order:
And whereas the owner withdrew such appeal:
And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting
date:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee did on the 1st day of
June, 1948, make an order declaring the said land to be farm land
suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman
or of two or more discharged servicemen:
And whereas no appeal from the said Order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time
allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who
is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His
Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land
described in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 31st day of
March, 1949, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed
to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
All that parcel of land containing six hundred and fifty-nine (659)
acres one (1) rood and five (5) perches, more or less, being Lot 3
and part Lot 2 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at
Christchurch as No. 3389, and being part of Rural Section 15327,
situated in Blocks IX and X, Corwar Survey District, and being
the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title Vol. 444,
folio 189 (Canterbury Registry).
