The Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942, Amendment No. 8
PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Emergency Regulations 1945,* the Minister of Marketing doth hereby give notice as follows:
- This notice may be cited as the Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942, Amendment No. 8, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942† (hereinafter referred to as the principal scheme).
- Clause 6 of the principal scheme is hereby amended as follows:
(a) By transferring from Zone No. 9 to George Barnard Price and John Reid Waddell, Milk-vendors, Rotorua, the following portion of the zone:-
All that area comprising Meade, Froude, Tryon, and Sala Streets (including the Forestry Block, Whakarewarewa Maori School Residence, and Whakarewarewa Maori Village).
(b) By revoking the words “A. Armer, Rotorua,” relating to deliveries in Zone No. 11, and substituting the words “Oswald Roy Mellisop, Rotorua.”

Black Steel Sheet Control Notice, 1948
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Leslie Raymond Moriss, Factory Controller, hereby require and direct as follows:
- This notice may be cited as the Black Steel Sheet Control Notice, 1948.
- For the purposes of this control, black steel sheet is defined as uncoated steel sheet of any kind, including enamelling, auto-panel, descaled and oiled, and common qualities.
- This notice is a modification of the control over the use of black steel sheet applied as from the 1st June, 1948, by circular letter dated 28th May, 1948, to importers, merchants, suppliers, and manufacturers supplying or using black sheet.
- This notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
- No owner of black steel sheet shall use, sell, supply, dispose of, or part with the possession or control of any sheet to any other person unless—
(a) The owner first receives an application duly completed by that person on a form approved by the Factory Controller.
(b) The application is submitted to and approved by the Factory Controller, P.O. Box 3025, Wellington, or by some person authorized by him in that behalf.
(c) Provided that nothing in this clause shall apply in any case where the owner is satisfied that the sheet is being used by him or intended to be used by another party for a purpose specified in clause 6 hereof, except that in such case the owner shall record the quantity used for specific priority purposes or shall require formal application to be made for such sheet on the required form and shall maintain a record of all such sheet supplied. - Except with the prior consent of the Factory Controller, no person shall use black steel sheet for any purpose other than—
(a) The manufacture of milk and cream cans and milk buckets.
(b) The manufacture of cooking-ranges, including oven-trays, but not including rangettes.
(c) The manufacture of flues for cooking and heating appliances, but excluding air-conditioning.
(d) The construction, maintenance, and repair of motor-trucks, buses, or cars.
(e) The construction, maintenance, and repair of tramway and railway rolling-stock.
(f) The construction, maintenance, and repair of tobacco kilns.
(g) The manufacture of kitchen sinks.
(h) The manufacture of commercial refrigerators, but not including domestic refrigerators.
(i) The manufacture, maintenance, or repair of farm equipment.
(j) The maintenance and repair of ships. - Compliance with this notice may be excused or varied with the express consent in writing of the Factory Controller and subject to such conditions as may be specified in that consent.
- All owners shall supply to the Factory Controller, P.O. Box 3025, Wellington, details of all stocks held by them as on 31st August, 30th November, 28th February, and 31st May of each year.
- Supplies of the necessary application forms may be obtained from the District Officers of the Department of Industries and Commerce in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin, or from the Factory Controller, P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
