CROWN LANDS NOTICES

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 8th June, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 16th July, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 20th July, 1948, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

NOTE.—This property is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND

Opuawhanga Survey District.—Puhipuhi Mining District.—Whangarei County.—Kaikānui Block

SECTIONS 39 and 42, Block VII : Area, 722 acres 2 roods 21 perches. Capital value £400 ; half-yearly rent, £10.

Successful applicant is liable for a contingent claim under the Fencing Act, 1908, by adjoining owners for half the value of boundary-fencing.

Property is situated seven miles from Hikurangi Post-office on a good metalled road. Service car on route daily. Land is undulating to steep and broken clay gum land, about two-thirds ploughable. 9 acres is in bush, remainder in light tea-tree and scrub with small amount of danthonia. The area which is suitable for grazing is poorly watered by a creek in a steep gully. Elevation, 400 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level.

Education Reserve in Otago Land District for Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 8th June, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve is open for lease under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 12th July, 1948.

Term of lease: Twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal at revaluation. Rent payable half-yearly in advance.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 14th July, 1948, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of improvement loading.

SECTION 6, Block LXXVII : Area, 1 rood. Annual rental, £12 10s. Weighted with £30 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising concrete wall.

The section comprises a good building-site, situated half a mile from Oamaru Post-office fronting Greta Street.

Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.
