Details: On and after 1st June, 1948, the following berthing signals will be exhibited from the Signal Station, horizontally disposed from the north side of Signal House :—
Day Signals
One red flag : Berth at No. 2.
One green flag : Berth at No. 3.
One white flag : Berth at No. 4.
Two flags, red and green: Berth at Timber Berth.
Two flags, red and white: Berth at top end.
Two flags, green and white: Berth at lower end.
Night Signals
One red light : Berth at No. 2.
One green light: Berth at No. 3.
One white light: Berth at No. 4.
Two lights, red and green: Berth at Timber Berth.
Two lights, red and white: Berth at top end.
Two lights, green and white: Berth at lower end.
The above signals will not be visible seaward of the Signal House.
NOTE.—Berths are numbered from lower end of wharf.

The Rabbit-skins Levy Fixation Order 1948 (Notice No. Ag. 4514)
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, and having regard to the recommendations of the Rabbit Destruction Council, the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby make the following Order.
ORDER
- This Order may be cited as the Rabbit-skins Levy Fixation Order 1948.
- For the purposes of this Order "the said regulations" means the Rabbit-skins Levy Regulations 1948.
- The rate of the levy to be charged for the purposes of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, in accordance with that Act and the said regulations, on rabbit-skins of whatever class produced and sold in New Zealand shall be 11·11 per centum of the price paid or payable by the purchaser of the skins in respect of every sale made or effected during the period commencing on the 16th day of June, 1948, and ending on the 31st day of May, 1949, both days inclusive, by a broker by auction or by a rural vendor directly to a wholesale trader as respectively defined in the said regulations.

N.B.—The rate of the levy fixed by the above Order is the equivalent of a rate of 10 per centum of the full market value.

Price Order No. 882 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 872) (Seed Potatoes)
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 882, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 872* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
- This Order shall come into force on the 21st day of May, 1948.
- The principal Order is hereby amended by adding after clause 3 the following clause :—
"3A. (1) The maximum price that may be charged or received for the sacks in which any lot of potatoes to which this Order applies are packed shall be computed as follows :—
"For cornsacks of a size 48 in by 26½ in., 46 in. by 26½ in., 44 in. by 26½ in., 46 in. by 23 in., or 41 in. by 23 in. : At the rate of 32s. 6d. per ton of potatoes for sacks certified by an official grader appointed by the New Zealand Grain, Seed, and Produce Merchants' Federation as new sacks or at the rate of 25s. per ton of potatoes for sacks not so certified :
"For fertilizer sacks of a size 40 in. by 24 in.: At the rate of 17s. 6d. per ton of potatoes.
"(2) Where any potatoes to which this Order applies are packed in sacks the maximum price that may be charged or received for the potatoes shall be computed on the gross weight of the potatoes and the sacks." Dated at Wellington, this 19th day of May, 1948.
