A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as street the land described in the Schedule hereto.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked as above mentioned, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 12th day of May, 1948.

Crown Land in Wellington Land District set apart for the Purposes of Part I of the Housing Act, 1919

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—BOROUGH OF FOXTON

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 3·45 perches, more or less, being Suburban Sections 9, 36, 37, and parts Suburban Sections 7 and 8, Town of Foxton, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on Norbiton Road, being the north-eastern corner of Suburban Section 6; thence proceeding in a south-easterly direction by the south-western side of Norbiton Road a distance of 127·15 links; thence in a south-westerly, south-easterly, and north-easterly direction by the north-western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 14019 for distances of 318·2 links, 181·81 links, and 318·2 links respectively to the Norbiton Road aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction by that road a distance of 291·04 links to the north-western corner of Suburban Section 10; thence in a south-westerly direction by the north-western boundary of said Suburban Section 10 for a distance of 600 links to the north-western corner of Suburban Section 34; thence in a north-westerly direction by the north-eastern boundary of Suburban Section 35 a distance of 200 links; thence in a south-westerly direction by the north-western boundary of Suburban Section 35 a distance of 500 links to the north-eastern side of The Avenue; thence in a north-westerly direction by The Avenue a distance of 400 links to the south-eastern corner of Suburban Section 38; thence in a north-easterly direction by the south-eastern boundaries of Suburban Sections 38 and 6 a distance of 1100 links to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 26/14722A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 12th day of May, 1948.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Waimca County, containing by admeasurement 4,639 acres, more or less, and being Sections 11 and 14, Block XII, and Sections 3, 4, and 5, Block XVI, Waimca Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 103/18, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Nelson plans S.O. 7426, 7428, 8650, and 8815.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of May, 1948.

Authorizing the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department to erect, construct, provide, and use Works, Appliances, and Conveniences in connection with the Utilization of Water-power from Lakes Wakatipu, Wanaka, and Hawea, and the Clutha, Manuherikia, Kawarau, Hawea, Cardrona, Lindis, Nevis, Shotover, Fraser, and Teviot Rivers, and all their Tributary Lakes, Rivers, and Streams, situated in the Land Districts of Otago and Southland, for the Generation, Storage, Transmission, Distribution, and Sale of Electrical Energy in terms of Section 311 of the Public Works Act, 1928

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section three hundred and eleven of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department to erect, construct, provide, and use such works, appliances, and conveniences as may be necessary in connection with the utilization of water-power from Lakes Wakatipu, Wanaka, and Hawea, and the Clutha, Manuherikia, Kawarau, Hawea, Cardrona, Lindis, Nevis, Shotover, Fraser, and Teviot Rivers, and all their tributary lakes, rivers, and streams in the Land Districts of Otago and Southland, for the generation and storage of electrical energy, and with the transmission, use, supply, and sale of electrical energy when so generated; also to use electrical energy when so generated in the construction, working, or maintenance of any public work, or for the smelting, reduction, manufacture, or development of ores, metals, or any other substances; also to raise or lower the level of all or any of the said lakes, rivers, and streams, and impound or divert the waters thereof; also to construct tunnels under private land, or aqueducts and flumes over the same, erect pylons, towers, or poles thereon, and carry wires over or along any such land, without being bound to acquire the same, and with right-of-way to and along all such works and erections; and also to supply and sell electrical energy and recover moneys due for the same.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Lawrence Ivan Smith, of Glenorchy, Garage-proprietor (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from a water-race leading from Stone Creek, situated in Run 346D, Glenorchy Survey District, in the Land District of Otago, County of Lake, for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding two cubic feet per second at any one time, and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.
