CHANGE OF NAME

I, THOMAS FINLAYSON, of Karapiro Hydro, near Cambridge, in New Zealand, Assistant Station Superintendent, heretofore called by the name of THOMAS FINLAYSON McKERROW, hereby give public notice that on the 4th day of May, 1948, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of McKERROW and then assumed, adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of FINLAYSON instead of the said name of McKERROW.
And further give notice that by deed-poll dated the 4th day of May, 1948, duly executed, attested, and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Hamilton on the 6th day of May, 1948, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of McKERROW and declared that I had assumed, adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of FINLAYSON instead of McKERROW, so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of FINLAYSON exclusively.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, to execute certain public works—namely, for library purposes and for street, Constable Street, in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public works the lands described in the Schedules hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council at the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and are there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

ALL that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 25·84 perches, more or less, being part of Section 787, Town of Wellington, being part of Lots 8 and 10 on Deposited Plan No. 349; as is more particularly shown on S.O. plan 21672, and thereon coloured sepia.

SECOND SCHEDULE
Land required for Street
ALL that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 3 perches, more or less, being part of Section 787, Town of Wellington, being part of Lots 8 and 10 on Deposited Plan No. 349; as is more particularly shown on S.O. plan 21672, and thereon coloured blue.

WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

Gasworks Loan, 1947
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Wanganui City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest on a loan of thirteen thousand pounds (£13,000), authorized to be raised by the Wanganui City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing and installing a new water gas plant, including erection and supervision costs thereof, the said Wanganui City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·188 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Wanganui, comprising the whole of the City of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of August, 1926, No. 53, at pages 2500 and 2501; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years from the date of the raising of the loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wanganui was hereunto affixed this 17th day of December, 1947, by order of the Wanganui City Council by and in the presence of—
