The Standards Act, 1941.—Amendment of Standard Specification

NOTICE is hereby given that, on 30th April, 1948, the under-
mentioned standard specification was amended by the
Minister of Industries and Commerce by the incorporation of
Amendment No. 1 dated April, 1948 :—

N.Z.S.S. 52I : Ready-mixed Paint for Undercoats and Finishing
Coats for Exterior Use on Woodwork (White and Light
Tints).

Copies of the standard specification so amended may be obtained
from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers,
201 Lambton Quay, Wellington C. 1, price 3s. a copy, post free.
Copies of the amendment will be supplied free of charge to all
purchasers of the standard specification.

Price Order No. 877 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 858)
(White Oats)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of
Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority
of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the
following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 877, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 858*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of May,

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by adding to sub-
    clause (3) of clause 8 the following paragraph :—

“(f) An amount not exceeding $d. per bushel on account of
brokerage actually incurred.”

Price Order No. 880 (Amending Price Order No. 665) (Apples and Pears)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister
of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 880, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 665* (hereinafter
    referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 17th day of May, 1948.

  3. The First Schedule to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 864†, is hereby revoked, and the following Schedule
    substituted therefor :—

Price Order No. 879 (Amendment No. 2 of Price Order No. 849)
(Main Crop Potatoes)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of
Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority
of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the
following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 879, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 849*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of May,

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended as follows :—

(a) By adding after clause 7 the following clause :—

“7A, (1) The maximum price that may be charged
or received for the sacks in which any lot of potatoes
to which this Order applies are packed shall be computed
as follows :—

“For corn sacks of a size 48 in. by 26½ in., 46 in.
by 26½ in., 44 in. by 26½ in., 46 in. by 23 in.,
or 41 in. by 23 in.: At the rate of 32s. 6d. per
ton of potatoes for sacks certified by an official
grader appointed by the New Zealand Grain,
Seed, and Produce Merchants’ Federation as new
sacks, or at the rate of 25s. per ton of potatoes
for sacks not so certified:

“For fertilizer sacks of a size 40 in by 24 in.: At
the rate of 17s. 6d. per ton of potatoes.

“(2) Where any potatoes to which this Order
applies are packed in sacks the maximum price that may
be charged or received for the potatoes shall be computed
on the gross weight of the potatoes and the sacks.”

(b) By inserting after the word “item” where it last appears
in subclause (1) of clause 16 the words “and shall state
separately the price charged for the sacks or other
containers.”
