The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of July, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 1st day of June, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two thousand one hundred and ninety-seven (2,197) acres and two (2) roods, more or less, situated in Blocks II, III, and VII, Puhi Puhi Survey District, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 1192, and being also part of Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, 38, 39, 40, 66, 67, 68, and 69, Waipapa District, Sections 2, 6, and 7, and part of Sections 1 and 5, Block II, and Section 4 and part of Section 5, Block III, Puhi Puhi Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 43, folio 109 (Marlborough Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement nine hundred and eighty-five (985) acres three (3) roods and twenty decimal eight (20·8) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks VII and XI, Puhi Puhi Survey District, being parts of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 912, and being also Sections 2, 3, 12, and 13, and part Section 1 of Block XI, Puhi Puhi Survey District, part Section 113, Woodbank Run, Waipapa District, and Section 8 and parts of Sections 2, 3, 7, 9, 14, 37, 49, 50, 52, and 81, Waipapa District, and being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 43, folio 89 (Marlborough Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two thousand three hundred and one (2,301) acres one (1) rood and thirty-nine (39) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks II, III, VI, and VII, Puhi Puhi Survey District, being Lot 3 on Deposited Plan No. 903, and Lots 1, 4, 5, and parts of Lot 3 on Deposited Plan No. 1191, and being also part of Sections 16, 17, 20, 21, 48, 49, 66, 67, 68, 69, 76, 77, and 78, Waipapa District, and Sections 1 and 2, Block VI, Section 2 and part Section 3, Block VII, and Sections 3, 4, and part Sections 1 and 5, Block II, Puhi Puhi Survey District, and being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 43, folio 110 (Marlborough Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two thousand one hundred and seventy-seven (2,177) acres two (2) roods and twenty decimal four (20·4) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks II, III, VII, and XI, Puhi Puhi Survey District, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 903, and Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 1191, and being also part of Sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 52, 70, 72, 77, 78, and 81, Waipapa District, and parts of Sections 5, Block II, 3, Block III, 1, 4, and 5, Block VII, and 1, Block XI, Puhi Puhi Survey District, and being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 43, folio 111 (Marlborough Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42 on the 31st day of July, 1947, at page 941 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said land :
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said land :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which such objection was referred did on the 12th day of March, 1948, make an order disallowing such objection and determining the land to be farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen :
And whereas the said committee did further order that the date of vesting be postponed to the 15th day of June, 1948 :
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time allowed by the Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the Minister of Lands did agree to a variation of the land to be taken by the exclusion of part of the land described in the said First Schedule :
And whereas the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land described in the said Second Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 15th day of June, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block IX, Wairere Survey District, containing by admeasurement four hundred and ninety-four (494) acres three (3) roods eight (8) perches, more or less, being parts of Lots 9 and 10 on Deposited Plan 2840, being part of Hungahunga No. 1 Block, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 478, folio 164 (Auckland Registry).
SECOND SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block IX, Wairere Survey District, containing by admeasurement three hundred and seventy-nine (379) acres one (1) rood twenty-five (25) perches, more or less, being parts of Lots 9 and 10 on Deposited Plan 2840, being part of Hungahunga No. 1 Block, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 883, folio 214 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block IX, Wairere Survey District, containing by admeasurement twenty (20) acres fifteen (15) perches, more or less, being part of Lot 10 on Deposited Plan 2840, being part of Hungahunga No. 1 Block, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 883, folio 214 (Auckland Registry).
As the same are more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland under No. S.O. 33918, and thereon edged red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Dunedin for a Post-office
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a post-office—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 22·7 perches.
Being part Section 20, Block XXIX, Town of Dunedin, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 81, folio 219 (Otago Land Registry), and situated at the north-western corner of Albany and King Streets, Dunedin North.
