THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Waimea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £30,000
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waimea, taken on the 19th day of November, 1947, on the proposal of the Waimea County Council to borrow the sum of £30,000 for the purpose of the erection of fifty-one concrete bridges—
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 1,425
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 417
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAIMEA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the special area of the Waimea Electric-power Board District, comprising that portion of the Waimea County included in the parts of the Ridings of Appleby, Wai-iti, Motupiko, Wangapeka, Dovedale, Motueka, and Moutere, and known as the Central Area, taken on the 19th day of November, 1947, on the proposal of the Board to borrow the sum of one hundred and forty-three thousand pounds (£143,000) for the purposes of (1) constructing electrical works and other matters under the authority of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, for the supply of electricity to the above-mentioned area, one hundred and thirty-eight thousand pounds (£138,000); (2) advancing to consumers for the purchase of electrical and other equipment and for wiring premises, five thousand pounds (£5,000)—

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Wanganui, taken on the 19th day of November, 1947, on the proposal of the Wanganui City Council to borrow the sum of £22,000 for the purposes of the purchase of six motor-omnibuses, selected spares and equipment, the altering of present buildings, and the providing of all material, appliances, and other matters and things necessary, expedient, or convenient for such purposes—
