Crown Land set apart as a Provisional State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a provisional State forest.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, Stratford County, containing by admeasurement 490 acres, more or less, and being Section 11, Block VII, Omona Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 6974, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of February, 1948.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hobson County, containing by admeasurement 1,028 acres 0 roods 2 perches, more or less, being Section 49, formerly part of Section 11, and Sections 9, 16A, 17, 42, and 48, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 8/35, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (North Auckland plans S.O. 10820, S.O. 27051, S.O. 30355, and S.O. 32813.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of February, 1948.

As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 125/66, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of February, 1948.

Abolishing Benmore-Limehills, Winton, and Upper Winton River Districts, County of Southland

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of March, 1948

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS a request was made pursuant to section one hundred and forty-one of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, that the Benmore-Limehills, Winton, and Upper Winton River Districts be abolished:

And whereas, pursuant to section twenty-four of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, such request was referred to the Local Government Commission and the Commission approved the proposal as a final scheme, bearing date the second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight:

And whereas it is desirable that effect be given to the provisions of such final scheme:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare that the Benmore-Limehills, Winton, and Upper Winton River Districts are hereby abolished; and with the like advice and consent doth hereby further order and declare that the abolition of the said Benmore-Limehills, Winton, and Upper Winton River Districts shall be deemed to have been effected under the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and the River Boards Act, 1908.

Amending Tuwharetoa Trust Board Regulations

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of March, 1948

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section fifty-five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend the regulations affecting the Tuwharetoa Trust Board made pursuant to section sixteen of the Maori Land Amendment and Maori Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1926, on the eighteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at page 3020, by deleting from Regulation Twenty-nine of the said regulations the words “£1 (one pound)” and substituting therefor the words “£1 5s. (one pound five shillings).”

Foreshore Licence: Fish-freezing Works.—Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of March, 1948

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit Fish Freezers, Limited, of Bluff (hereunder called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island, as shown on approved plan marked M.D. 5162, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining a fish-freezing works thereon as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 1st day of April, 1948.

  3. The premium payable by the company shall be one pound (£1), and the annual sum so payable by the company shall be three pounds (£3).
