The Samoa Amendment Act Commencement Order 1948

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by subsection two of section one of the Samoa Amendment Act, 1947, it is provided that that Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed for the commencement thereof by the Governor-General by Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as follows:β

This Proclamation may be cited as the Samoa Amendment Act Commencement Order 1948.

The Samoa Amendment Act, 1947, shall come into force on the tenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of March, 1948.

Proclaiming Maori Land to be vested in His Majesty the King

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section four hundred and fifty of the Maori Land Act, 1931, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Maori land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing 581 acres 2 roods 7 perches, more or less, called or known as Rotoiti No. 3r Block, situated in Blocks III, IV, and VII, Rotoiti Survey District, being the whole of the land comprised in Provisional Register, Volume 120, folio 13 (Auckland Registry).
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of March, 1948.

Additional Land at Woodlands taken for the Purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, the Government Railways Act, 1926, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 2 acres 3 roods 4 perches. Being part Lot 25, D.P. 115, being part Section 63.
Situated in Block VI, Mabel Hundred, Southland County. (S.O. 5750.)
In the Southland Land District: as the same is more particularly delineated in the plan marked L.O. 9227, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of March, 1948.

Land taken for a Rubbish Dump in the Borough of Whakatane

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a rubbish dump and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Whakatane as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126492, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of March, 1948.
