The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 26 on the 22nd day of May, 1947, at page 620:
And whereas an objection was made by the owners in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said lands:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objection was referred made an order disallowing such objection:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 27th day of February, 1948, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situate in Block IV, Huangarua Survey District, and Block XVI, Tiffin Survey District, containing by admeasurement six hundred and eighty-four (684) acres one (1) rood, more or less, being Section 18 and parts of Sections 16, 17, and 19, Ahiaruhe Block, and parts of Sections 7, 8, and 9, Tupurupuru Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 332, folio 6 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IV, Huangarua Survey District, containing by admeasurement forty (40) acres, more or less, being parts of Sections 6 and 7, Tupurupuru Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 332, folio 8 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Blocks III and IV, Huangarua Survey District, and Block XVI, Tiffin Survey District, containing by admeasurement one thousand and sixty-two (1,062) acres, more or less, being Sections 22, 23, 25, and parts of Sections 12, 20, 21, 26, and 27, Ahiaruhe Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 332, folio 9 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IV, Huangarua Survey District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and sixty-one (261) acres one (1) rood three (3) perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 24 and 28, Ahiaruhe Block, and parts of Sections 2 and 3, Tupurupuru Block, and being also parts of Lots 1 and 2, Deposited Plan 6030, and the land edged green on Deposited Plan 7074, together with the water rights appurtenant to the parts of Lot 1 created and restricted by Transfer No. 152338, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 322, folio 115 (Wellington Registry).

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical and Pharmaceutical Services for the Residents of Middlemarch Special Area

Wellington, 27th November, 1947.
I, MABEL BOWDEN HOWARD, Minister of Health, hereby notify for general information that, pursuant to section 82 of the Social Security Act, 1938, as extended by section 15 of the Finance Act (No. 4), 1940, I have made special arrangements by which all persons usually resident in the district described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said district) are, on and after the 6th July, 1947, entitled to receive without charge, at the hands of Robert Edmund Ballantyne, Registered Medical Practitioner, all such medical and pharmaceutical requirements as are provided as benefits in accordance with the Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941, the Social Security General Medical Services Regulations 1941, and the Social Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations 1941.
In accordance with the provisions of section 82 (2) of the Social Security Act, 1938, the general provisions of the aforementioned regulation in relation to medical and pharmaceutical supplies will not be applicable to residents of the said district for the time being provided for by the special arrangements notified herein.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, being part of the Counties of Taieri, Maniototo, Waihemo, and Waikouaiti, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station G in Block III, Rock and Pillar Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station R on the eastern boundary of Block VIII, Rock and Pillar Survey District, and a right line to Trig. Station B in Block III, Budle Survey District; thence southerly along the summit of the range passing through Trig. Stations E, F, and H (Swampy Hill) to D (Hummock); thence southerly generally along the western boundaries of Runs 171c, 171g, 171b, and Section 5, Block VIII, Silver Peak Survey District; thence easterly along a road-line forming the southern boundary of Section 5 aforesaid to the western boundary of Block IX, Silver Peak Survey District; thence again southerly
