Appointment of Honorary Child Welfare Officers under the Child Welfare Act, 1925

Appointment of Honorary Fishery Officers

THE Minister of Marine has, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, appointed
John Bernard Jones, of Karamea, and George Edwards, of Whitianga,
to be Honorary Fishery Officers for the purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act, 1908, to hold office until the 31st day of March, 1950.

Robert Crawford Haywood to be Gaoler of His Majesty's Prison, Wi Tako, under section 5 of the Prisons Act, 1908, on and from the 19th day of August, 1947.
Francis Newmarch to be Maintenance Officer at Wellington for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 23rd day of September, 1946.
Charles Hastings Cambridge to be an Inspector of Machinery for the purposes of the Inspection of Machinery Act, 1928, and a Surveyor of Ships for the purposes of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, on and from the 10th day of November, 1947.
Arthur Edward Baldwin to be an Inspector of Machinery for the purposes of the Inspection of Machinery Act, 1928, and a Surveyor of Ships for the purposes of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, on and from the 7th day of November, 1947.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VII, Wakapuaka Survey District, for Soil-conservation Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for soil-conservation purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whangamoa and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 71 acres.
Being part Section 7.
Situated in Block VII, Wakapuaka Survey District (Nelson R.D.).
In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126242, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 1st day of December, 1947.

Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the Buller Electric-power Board

PURSUANT to section 32 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, I, Robert Semple, Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 11th day of December, 1947, at 7.30 p.m., as the time, and the Town Hall, Palmerston Street, Westport, as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Buller Electric-power Board.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed in the Borough of Huntly.--(Notice No. Ag. 4472)

THE following special order made by the Huntly Borough Council on the 11th day of November, 1947, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
"In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Huntly Borough Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the plant known as hemlock (Conium maculatum), being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule of the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council, is a noxious weed within the Borough of Huntly."
