FIRST SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 18

Gore-Invercargill.--All that main highway or portion of main
highway in the County of Southland and the Boroughs of Gore and
Mataura, declared as the Gore-Invercargill Main Highway, described
in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the
Gazette of 10th October, 1940.

SECOND SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 18

Gore-Invercargill.--All that road or portion of road in the
Southland County, commencing at the south-western boundary of
the Gore Borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-
westerly direction via Mataura, Edendale, Dacre, and Kennington,
but excluding that portion in the Mataura Borough, and terminating
at the eastern boundary of the City of Invercargill, being a distance
of 34 miles 69 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 107249, deposited in the office of the
Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that street or portion of street in the Gore Borough,
commencing at the intersection of Medway Street and Main Street
and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via
Main Street and terminating at the south-western boundary of the
said borough, being a distance of 1 mile 16 chains, more or less;
as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107253,
deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington,
thereon coloured red, and marked A-C.

Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Mataura
Borough, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough
and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via
Selbourne Street, Denbigh Street, Main Street, and Durham Street
and terminating at the south-western boundary of the said borough,
being a distance of 2 miles 45 chains, more or less; as the same is
more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107250, deposited in
the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

Blenheim-Nelson.--All that road or portion of road in the
Counties of Marlborough and Waimea, commencing at the western
boundary of the Blenheim Borough and proceeding thence generally
in a north-westerly and south-westerly direction via Renwicktown,
Havelock, Whangamoa Valley, and Whakapuaka, and terminating
at the northern boundary of the City of Nelson, being a distance of
72 miles 27 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 107281, deposited in the office of the
Main Highways Board at Wellington, thereon coloured green, and
marked B-E-F.

Blenheim Aerodrome Highway.--All that road or portion of
road in the Marlborough County, commencing at the southern
boundary of the Borough of Blenheim at the junction of Maxwell
Road and Alabama Road and proceeding thence generally in a
westerly and southerly direction by way of Alabama Road, New
Renwick Road, and an unnamed road, and terminating at the
Blenheim Municipal Aerodrome near the north-eastern corner of
Section 31 (Omaka Domain), District of Omaka, Block III, Taylor
Pass Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 32 chains, more or
less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan numbered
P.W.D. 92856, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board
at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Revoking the Declaration of Main Highways and declaring Public
Highways to be Main Highways

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of
November, 1947

Present:

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and
of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and after the
date
of publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette the main
highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be
main highways, and doth further declare that the roads described
in the Second Schedule hereto shall be main highways within the
meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

FIRST SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 11

Picton-Christchurch.--All that main highway in the Counties
of Marlborough and Awatere and the Boroughs of Picton and
Blenheim, declared as the Picton-Christchurch Main Highway,
described in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and
published in the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.

Blenheim-Nelson.--All that main highway in the Counties of
Marlborough and Waimea and the Borough of Blenheim, declared as
the Blenheim-Nelson Main Highway, described in Order in Council
dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 10th
October, 1940.

Blenheim Aerodrome Highway.--All that main highway in the
Blenheim Borough and Marlborough County, declared as the
Blenheim Aerodrome Main Highway, described in Order in Council
dated 9th September, 1936, and published in the Gazette on 10th
September, 1936.

SECOND SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 11

Picton-Christchurch.--All that road or portion of road in the
Counties of Marlborough and Awatere, commencing at the south-
western boundary of Picton Borough and proceeding thence in a
southerly direction, but excluding that portion in Blenheim Borough,
and terminating at the southern boundary of the Awatere County
at the centre of the Clarence River Bridge, being a distance of 74
miles 15 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 107281, deposited in the office of the
Main Highways Board at Wellington, coloured green, and thereon
marked A-B-C.

Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of
Picton, commencing in London Quay at the railway gates and
proceeding thence generally in an easterly and south-westerly
direction via London Quay, High Street, Broadway, Wairau Street,
Nelson Square, and Wairau Street again, and terminating at the

Te Kumi - Te Anga.--All that main highway in the Counties
of Waitomo and Kawhia, declared as the Te Kumi - Te Anga Main
Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd April, 1928, and
published in the Gazette of 5th April, 1928.

Pio Pio - Mangaohae.--All that main highway in the Waitomo
County, declared as the Pio Pio - Mangaohae Main Highway,
described in Order in Council dated 16th December, 1935, and
published in the Gazette of 19th December, 1935.

SECOND SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 6

Te Kumi - Te Anga.--All that road or portion of road in the
Counties of Waitomo and Kawhia, commencing at its junction
with the Hamilton - Te Kuiti Main Highway at Te Kumi and
proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction by way of
Arapae Road, Mairoa Road, Pungarehu Road, Mahoenui-Kawhia
Road, Pomarangei Road, Mangakokopu Road, and thence in a
northerly and north-easterly direction by way of Kiritehere Road,
Waipa Road, and Marakopa Valley Road, and terminating at its
junction with the Caves - Lemon Point Main Highway near Te Anga,
being a distance of 57 miles 34 chains, more or less; as the same is
more particularly delineated on plans P.W.D. 71544 and 71545,
deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.

Pio Pio - Waitanguru.--All that portion of road in the Waitomo
County, commencing at its junction with the Te Kuiti - New
Plymouth State Highway in Pio Pio Township, and proceeding
thence generally in a north-westerly and northerly direction by way
of the Mangaotaki Road and Mahoenui-Kawhia Road, and
terminating at its junction with the Te Kumi - Te Anga Main
Highway at Waitanguru, being a distance of 13 miles 38 chains,
more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan
numbered P.W.D. 71544, deposited in the office of the Main Highways
Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
