THE CENTRAL WAIKATO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Special Loan, 1947, £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Central Waikato Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on the Central Waikato Electric-power Board’s Special Loan, 1947, £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Board under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Board Act, 1925, and the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, for the purpose of further reticulation work within the Central Waikato Electric-power District, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·08097 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) on all property in the Central Waikato Electric-power District, as the same is defined by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 27th day of July, 1939, at page 2042 ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I certify that the above is a correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly convened meeting of the Central Waikato Electric-power Board held on the 15th day of October, 1947.

CONVERSION OF LOANS

NOTICE is hereby given of the following resolution passed by the Central Waikato Electric-power Board :—

“That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and section 20 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1935, and by the Central Waikato Electric-power Board’s Loans Conversion Order 1947, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Central Waikato Electric-power Board hereby resolves, by way of special resolution, to issue new securities, in conversion of existing securities to which the said Conversion Order applies, as follows :—

“The said new securities to bear interest at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum and the principal and interest thereon shall be repaid by equal half-yearly instalments over a period of ten (10) years in accordance with the Loans Conversion Order, a copy of which is deposited at the office of the Board and is available for inspection during office hours.

“The said Loan Conversion Order provides (inter alia) for—
“(1) Conversion to take effect on the 1st day of November, 1947 ;
“(2) The making and levying of a special rate to provide for the repayment of half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the new securities.”

I hereby certify that the above is a correct copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Central Waikato Electric-power Board held on the 17th day of September, 1947, and confirmed at a meeting of the Board held on the 15th day of October, 1947.

CONVERSION OF LOANS

Resolution making Special Rate

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and section 20 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1935, the Central Waikato Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the new securities authorized to be issued by the Central Waikato Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, the said Central Waikato Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh (1/11th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the area of the Central Waikato Electric-power District, as the same is defined by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 27th day of July, 1939, at page 2042 ; and such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 1st day of November, 1957, or until all such securities are fully paid off.”

THE HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928

NOTICE is hereby given that the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hutt requires to take the land described in the Schedule hereto. The land is required for a public work—namely, a fire-station.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, Hutt County Council, Bowen House, Bowen Street, Wellington.

SCHEDULE

THAT piece of land containing 19·5 perches, being Lot 3 on Deposited Plan 5871, and part Lot 1A of Block I on Deposited Plan 2041, being part Section 22, Harbour District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 290, folio 275 (Wellington Registry).
