Varying the Determination in respect of the Ashburton Borough
Council's Loan of £15,250 by extending the Term within which
the said Loan may be borrowed

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of
October, 1947
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the seventh day of
November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five
(hereinafter called the said Order in Council), and subject to the
determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out,
consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Ashburton
Borough Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) of a
loan of fifteen thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£15,250), to
be known as 'Waterworks and Drainage Loan, No. 2, 1945'
(hereinafter called the said loan):
And whereas by Order in Council made on the thirtieth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, the determina-
tions aforesaid were varied:
And whereas the said loan has not yet been raised and it is
expedient to extend the term, as specified in clause seven of the
said Order in Council, within which the said loan or any portion
thereof may be raised:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on
him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act,
1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932
(No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in
this behalf, doth hereby vary the determinations aforesaid in respect
of the said loan by prescribing that no moneys shall be borrowed
under the consent given by the said Order in Council after the
expiration of four (4) years from the date thereof.

Validating the Proceedings in Connection with the Mackenzie County
Council's Loan of £1,800

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of
October, 1947
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Mackenzie County Council lately proceeded by
way of special order to raise a loan of one thousand eight
hundred pounds (£1,800), by a loan to be known as 'Aorangi Hall
Loan, 1946,' for the purpose of purchasing the Aorangi Hall in
Fairlie Township for use as a public hall:
And whereas the proceedings in connection with the said loan
were irregular or defective in that steps were taken in connection
with the making of the special order before the consent of the
Governor-General in Council had been given to the raising of the
said loan in terms of section ten of the Local Government Loans
Board Act, 1926:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district have
not been misled by such irregularity or defect as aforesaid, and it is
expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and twenty-
two of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers
and authorities enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings in connection
with the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though
the steps taken in connection with the making of the special order
had been taken after the consent of the Governor-General in Council
had been given to the raising of the said loan as aforesaid, and that
the validity of the security for the said loan shall not be called in
question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

under an Order in Council authorizing George Murray, of
'Braemar,' Lake Tekapo, to use Water for the Purpose of
generating Electricity

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby consent to the assignment
to Bruce Nalder Murray, of 'Braemar,' Lake Tekapo, Sheep-
farmer, of the rights, powers, and privileges under an Order in
Council dated the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-six, and published in the Gazette on the second day of
the same month, at page 1248, authorizing George Murray, of
'Braemar,' Lake Tekapo, to use water for the purpose of
generating electricity.

Revoking Previous Orders in Council and reapportioning Representation
on the Taranaki Electric-power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of
October, 1947
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke,
as from the date of the next general election of the representatives
of the constituent districts of the Taranaki Electric-power District,
the Orders in Council dated the eighth day of June, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-two, and published in the Gazette on the
fifteenth day of the same month, and dated the twelfth day of
July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published
in the Gazette on the fifteenth day of the same month, apportioning
representation on the Taranaki Electric-power Board, and doth
hereby determine, in lieu thereof, that on and after the said date
the number of representatives of each constituent district on the
said Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto
opposite the name of that constituent district; and doth further
determine that the constituent districts which are bracketed
together in the first column of the Schedule hereto are hereby
constituted a combined district for the purpose of the said Act, and
that the local authority of the constituent district distinguished
in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter '(P)'
shall be the principal local authority of such combined district;
and doth further determine that the first election of the representa-
tives of the said combined district shall be held on the date of the
said next general election.

nine hundred and thirty, and published in the Gazette on the seven-

in lieu thereof, that on and after the said date the number of repre-
sentatives of each constituent district on the said Board shall be
the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of
that constituent district; and doth further determine that the
constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column
of the Schedule hereto are hereby constituted combined districts
for the purpose of the said Act, and that the local authority of the
constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule
hereto by the letter '(P)' shall be the principal local authority of
each such combined district; and doth further determine that the
