NOTICE is hereby given that the parcel of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within one calendar month from the date of publication of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice :—

A PPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of a provisional lease in perpetuity in favour of WILLIAM GERRARD, late of Otatara, Farmer, now deceased, for Section 111, Block XX, Invercargill Hundred, being the land contained in lease in perpetuity, Vol. 141, folio 82, and evidence having been lodged of the loss of the said lease in perpetuity, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a provisional lease in perpetuity as requested upon the expiration of fourteen days from the 16th October, 1947.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water-supply Extension Loan, 1947, £120,730

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 19th day of September, 1947 :—

“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“'That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and twenty thousand seven hundred and thirty pounds (£120,730), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending the water-supply of the City of Christchurch, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and sixty-eight thousand six hundred and fifty-one one million two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (£86,651d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch ; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty (30) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

“That Nortons Stores, Limited, be wound up voluntarily, and that EDWIN WINSTON SMART, Public Accountant, of Pahiatua, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned THOMAS PATRICK GILROY and LEO FRANCIS EMERSON, both of Christchurch, Bulldozer-drivers, under the style and name of “Canterbury Earth Works and Company,” has been dissolved as from the 30th day of September, 1947, by mutual consent, from which date the said THOMAS PATRICK GILROY ceased to have any interest in the said business. Any debts owing by or to the said partnership business will be discharged or received (as the case may be) by the said LEO FRANCIS EMERSON, who will continue to carry on the business as the sole proprietor thereof under the style and name of “Canterbury Earth Works and Company.”

CENTRAL HAWKE'S BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board Reticulation Loan, £50,000, 1947

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1936, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :-

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and principal and other charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000), authorized to be raised by the Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board pursuant to the provisions of section 15 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, for the purpose of the further reticulation of the Board's area, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh (1/7th) of one penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board District ; and such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of the Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board at a meeting held on Thursday, 2nd October, 1947, and at which the resolution was duly passed.

BLUFF BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

Conversion Loan Redemption Loan, 1947, of £7,705

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Bluff Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 29th September, 1947, resolved as follows :-

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Conversion Loan Redemption Loan, 1947, of £7,705, authorized to be raised by the Bluff Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect to the Consolidation and Conversion Loan, 1934, of £26,405, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence and one farthing (4¼d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Bluff; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
