Notice of Intention to take Additional Land for a Technical School
in the City of Palmerston North

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the additional land
described in the Schedule hereto for a technical school: And notice
is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Palmerston North and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the
taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

Approximate Areas of the Pieces of Additional Land required to be taken. Being Coloured on Plan
A. R. P. 3 0 32 Part Suburban Section 230, Town of Palmerston Blue.
5 0 0 Suburban Section 235, Town of Palmerston, part being also Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, and part Lot 4 on D.P. 10561 Orange.

Situated in Block X, Kairanga Survey District (City of Palmerston North).

In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126136, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Defining Lands in North Auckland Land District (Wharekohe Block)
to which Water is supplied pursuant to Section 8 of the Land
Laws Amendment Act, 1939

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by subsection (5) of section 8 of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1939, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, Minister of
Lands, hereby give notice that the lands defined in the Schedule
hereto are lands to which water is supplied under the said section.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Whangarei, containing by admeasurement 142 acres 3 roods 13 perches, more or less, being Sections 43 and 44, Block IX, Purua Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 34/112c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plans S.O. 20559 and S.O. 26371.)

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the
land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application
relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a
discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition
of the land, did on the 5th day of September, 1947, make an order
determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said
order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within
any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who
is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His
Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land
is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby
specifies the 29th day of October, 1947, as the date on which the
said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred
and twenty-six (126) acres and two (2) roods, more or less, being
Section 231, Kaikoura Suburban Registration District, situated in
Block IX, Mount Fyffe Survey District, and being part of the land
comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 35, folio 168 (limited as to
parcels) (Marlborough Registry).

Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention
to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 3rd
day of March, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is
required, and the 14th day of November, 1947, as the date on or
before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said
Act.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XI, Newcastle Survey
District, containing approximately one hundred and sixteen (116)
acres, being parts of Allotments 14, 15, 16, and 17, Waipa Parish,
and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 570,
folio 124 (Auckland Registry), limited as to parcels, and being
more particularly shown on the plan lodged with the Surveyor-General, Wellington, as No. 2971, and thereon edged red.

Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention
to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule
hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 10th day of
February, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required
and the 14th day of November, 1947, as the date on or before which
objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement approximately five
hundred and eighty-five (585) acres, situated in Blocks VI and VII,
Heretaunga Survey District, part of the land in certificate of title,
Vol. 63, folio 85, bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-west corner of Lot 2, Deposited Plan 7187; thence south-easterly
along the southern boundary of Lot 2 for a distance of 3303·2 links;
thence south-westerly along the western boundary of Lots 1 and 2,
Deposited Plan 3042, for a distance of 3209·5 links; thence south-easterly, south-westerly, and south-easterly along the southern
boundary of Lot 2, Deposited Plan 3042, for distances of 378, 100,
and 1866·8 links respectively to the Omahu-Moteo Road; thence
north-easterly along the east side of that road for a distance of 730·8
links; thence generally easterly along the southern boundary of
Lot 2, Deposited Plan 3042, for distances of 780·3, 1368, 1374·8,
and 351·2 links; thence generally north-easterly along the eastern
boundary of Lots 1 and 2, Deposited Plan 3042, for distances of
1162·5 and 414·5 links; thence generally south-easterly and westerly
along a drain, a fence-line, to and across the aforementioned road,
and by a drain, such boundary having been decided on by the
executors of the T. H. Lowry Estate as the dividing line between
the interest of Mr. T. C. Lowry and Mr. J. N. Lowry in the
above estate, to a point where the said fence meets the eastern
boundary of Pirau No. 1 Block; thence north-easterly along that
boundary to the point of commencement; excepting therefrom an
area of approximately three (3) acres containing a house, gardens,
and cow-bails, situated on both sides of the Omahu-Moteo Road,
such property being occupied by George Stevens. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2970,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
at Wellington, and thereon edged green, subject to water and drainage
rights created by T. 26719 and 26845.
