JUSTICE AND PRISONS DEPARTMENT
NOTE.—Unless indicated otherwise, the salaries shown are deemed to include any payment hitherto or at present made by way of allowance for special services or duties as Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, Registrar of Electors, Clerk of Licensing Committee, Official Assignee, Clerk of Awards, or of fees on execution of Sheriff’s writs.
REFERENCES: JUSTICE—* Also scale lodging-allowance. † Salary includes £25 per annum as Inspector of Factories. ‡ Also Clerk of Licensing Committee (or Committees). ¶ To be considered for regrading after one year on present maximum. ‡‡ Subject to passing Departmental Examination within two years of resuming civilian duties. Salary not to advance beyond C, V status until examination is passed. ± On leave without pay. § Grading personal to officer. (a) Also Registrar of Electors. (b) Also Returning Officer. (c) Also Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages. (d) Has passed all subjects of Law Professional Examination. (e) Also free quarters. (f) Salary includes remuneration as: J. W. Bain, Secretary of Law Revision Committee; O. S. Harvey, Clerk of Licensing Committee and Office-cleaner. (h) Also annual allowance as shown as Maintenance Officer. (i) Also annual allowance as shown as Probation Officer. (j) Also annual allowance as shown as Inspector of Factories. (n) Also annual allowance as shown in lieu of free fuel and light. (o) Salary includes payment as Maintenance Officer. (p) Also annual allowance of £18 as Office-cleaner, £25 as Maintenance Officer, and £30 special. △ On loan to another Department: iv, Cook Islands Administration, New Zealand salary £760 per annum from 1/4/47; v, Rehabilitation; ix, Scientific and Industrial Research. ¶ Receives annual special and/or higher duties allowance as shown as at 1/4/47. + Regrading adjustment allowance. λ Does not contribute to Superannuation Fund.
