RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE
———

NOTICE is given that the following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Auckland City Council held on the 18th day of September, 1947, resolving to make and levy a special rate of one and one-eighth of one penny in the pound as security for the repayment of the Waterworks Development Loan, 1947, £255,000:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £255,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council for the purpose of providing works for the purpose of increasing the supply of water to the City of Auckland, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and one-eighth of one penny (1⅛d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the boundaries of the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928

In the matter of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Fire Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing an extension of the site of the existing Fire-brigade Station, to take the following land, namely: All that piece of land containing twenty-two decimal two perches (22·2 perches), more or less, situate in the City of Wellington, and being part of Section No. 368 on the public map of the said City of Wellington, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 48, folio 75 (Wellington Registry).

All persons affected by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objection to the taking thereof are required and called upon to state their objections in writing, and to send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington Fire Board at its office, Room 333, D.I.C. Building, Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school, the following land, viz.: All that piece of land situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing two acres eleven perches (2 acres 0 roods 11 perches); being Allotment 28 and part Allotment 27 of the Parish of Okura, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 757, folio 260 (Auckland Registry).

A plan of the land is deposited in the post-office at Silverdale and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street East, Auckland.
