A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the portions of public domain described in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for housing purposes; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of September, 1947.

Easements taken over Land in the Borough of Timaru for Housing Purposes

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that an easement is hereby taken for housing purposes over the land described in the First Schedule hereto vesting in His Majesty the King full and free liberty, right, license, and authority in perpetuity to lay, construct, place, reconstruct, cleanse, repair, and maintain a line of sewer-pipes under, along, and over the said land, and to connect such line of pipes to the manhole and sewer adjoining the said land, and to use the said line of pipes for the unimpeded conveyance of sewage; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that an easement is hereby taken for housing purposes over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto vesting in His Majesty the King full and free, liberty, right, license, and authority in perpetuity to lay, construct, place, reconstruct, cleanse, repair, and maintain a line of storm-water drainage pipes under, along, and over the said land, and to use the said line of pipes for the unimpeded conveyance of storm-water and to discharge such storm-water into the open concrete culvert adjoining the said land; and also do hereby declare that the aforesaid easements shall be held appurtenant to the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 495, folio 228 (Canterbury Land Registry); and also do hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Pongakawa Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4454)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of September, 1947

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:

And whereas the district known as the Pongakawa Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:

And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including an additional area therein:

And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such additional area qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers' list for the said district has been given to the inclusion of such additional area in the said district:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid;

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,

(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
