POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT

The attention of officers is drawn to the statutory provisions following:—
Section 237 (1) of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928.—Every officer of the Department shall have the right of appeal to the Post and Telegraph Appeal Board against—
(a) Any determination of his superior officers relative to his classification, grade, salary, or promotion, including any determination relating to the grading or relative rate of progress of such officer in any classification list prepared pursuant to this Division of this Act or any regulations thereunder; and for the purposes of this subsection any appointment to any vacant position in the First Division or the Second Division of the Department shall be deemed to be a determination of a superior officer relative to the classification or salary of any officer considering himself entitled to such appointment:
Any officer desirous of appealing against his classification as shown herein is required to forward to the Director-General, General Post Office, Wellington C.1, within thirty days of the date of this notification—viz., 1st October, 1947—an appeal in the prescribed form for consideration by the Post and Telegraph Appeal Board.
