In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of the Mossbank Coal Mining Company, Limited (in Liquidation).

THE liquidators of the Mossbank Coal Mining Company, Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, do hereby fix the 21st day of September, 1947, as the date on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

Resolution making Special Rate

The Wellington City (Mercer Street) Land Purchase Renewal Loan, 1948, of £40,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 1st day of September, 1947, viz. :—

“ In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council doth hereby resolve as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of forty thousand pounds (£40,000), to be known as the ‘Wellington City (Mercer Street) Land Purchase Renewal Loan, 1948,’ authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming, to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient, the Wellington City (Mercer Street) Land Purchase Loan, 1938, which matures on the 1st day of February, 1948, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty eight-hundredths of a penny (40/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years from the 1st day of February, 1948, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

HOWICK TOWN BOARD

Resolution making Special Rate

Housing Loan, 1947, £1,250

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Howick Town Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the Housing Loan, 1947, of £1,250, authorized to be raised by the Howick Town Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of an existing dwelling, the said Howick Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (1/5d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Howick Town District ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

Notice to Debenture-holders of Intention to exercise Option

In the matter of the Local Authorities’ Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the Invercargill City Loans Conversion Order, 1934.

IN pursuance of section 16 of the Invercargill City Loans Conversion Order, 1934, and the terms under which securities authorized by the said Order were issued, the Invercargill City Council at a meeting held on the 15th day of July, 1947, resolved to exercise the option contained in the securities in respect of all debentures maturing on the 1st day of May, 1953, of the Invercargill City Conversion Loan, 1934 ; and public notice is accordingly hereby given of the Invercargill City Council’s intention to redeem such debentures of the said loan on the 1st day of May, 1948, and interest thereon will cease on the said day, viz. :—

Debentures Nos. 6107 to 6333 (inclusive) for £100 each, maturing on the 1st day of May, 1953.

The holders of the said debentures to be redeemed are given the right to accept in lieu thereof new debentures which will bear interest at three pounds (£3) per centum per annum.
