to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Balclutha for the purposes of the Marriage Act, 1908, and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Balclutha for the purposes of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, on and from the 1st day of September, 1947.

Walter Sinclair Barclay

to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Taranaki Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, and Deputy Registrar under section 9 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, on and from the 18th day of August, 1947.

Wilfrid Maurice Groombridge

to be a Receiver of Land Revenue for the Southland Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, and Deputy Registrar under section 9 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, on and from the 4th day of August, 1947.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Wellington for an Automatic-telephone Exchange

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of an automatic-telephone exchange—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kilbirnie and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 33·4 perches.

Being part Lots 20 and 21, D.P. 1932, and being part Section 7, Evans Bay District.

Situated in the City of Wellington.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 125991, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the Service of Notices by Telegraph

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed the said Act), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officer, at the address set against his name, is hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of June, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 20th day of October, 1947, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block II, Hapuakohe Survey District, containing by admeasurement sixty-seven (67) acres one (1) rood eight (8) perches, more or less, being Allotment 335, Whangamarino Parish, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 244, folio 60 (Auckland Registry).
