Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Wanganui for Housing Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Wanganui and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 rood 3·75 perches.

Being part Section 227, Right Bank, Wanganui River.

Situated in Block V, Westmere Survey District (City of Wanganui). (S.O. 21516.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 125763, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 2nd day of February, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 30th day of September, 1947, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing approximately three hundred and eighty-three (383) acres, situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Motuotaraia Survey District, being part of Lot 8, Deeds Plan 417, deposited in the Deeds Registry Office at Napier, and part of Blocks 32, 52, and 67A, Porangahau Crown Grant District, and being also part of the land in certificate of title, H.B. Vol. 90, folio 178 (Hawke’s Bay Registry), bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the north side of Ugly Hill Road on the boundary between H. Judd and T. E. Whelch; thence generally north-westerly along the north side of that road for a distance of approximately 117 chains to a point where a subdivisional fence meets the road; thence generally south-easterly along the subdivisional fence for a distance of approximately 80 chains to a point where the subdivisional fence meets the Judd boundary; thence generally south-westerly along the Judd-Whelch boundary for a distance of approximately 73 chains to the point of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2967, deposited in the Head Office, Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, and thereon edged green.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged servicemen:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 15th day of July, 1947, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 8th day of September, 1947, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XI, Oroua Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and fifty-two (152) acres and twenty-one (21) perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 4, 5, 6, and parts of Lots 2 and 7 on Deposited Plan 6057, being part of Subdivision D, Manchester Block, and being more particularly delineated on the plan numbered 21600, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington, and thereon bordered red, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 296, folio 158 (Wellington Registry).

Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939—Notice by Oil Fuel Controller

IN pursuance of powers given to me in terms of Regulation 4 of the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939, I hereby give notice that on and after the 22nd day of August, 1947, the sale of motor-spirits otherwise than into the petrol tanks of motor-vehicles is prohibited unless the written consent of the Oil Fuel Controller has previously been obtained.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially effected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 11th September, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
