Provision with respect to Preparation of District Electors' List for Borough of Greymouth

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the preparation of a district electors' list for the Borough of Greymouth was commenced and undertaken but such list was destroyed by fire whilst in course of preparation:
And whereas by reason of the destruction of the district electors' list it was not possible to complete the preparation thereof as required by the said section six, and certain provisions of the Municipal Enrolment Regulations 1947* cannot be complied with:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the said Municipal Enrolment Regulations 1947 may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section three hundred and eighty-eight of the said Act, do hereby order that the following steps shall be taken to provide for the making of a new district electors' list in place of that destroyed as aforesaid:-

  1. On or before the eighteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, the Town Clerk of the Borough of Greymouth shall make out a new district electors' list as provided by section six of the said Act.
  2. The district electors' list so made out shall be open for inspection in the manner provided by Regulation 10 of the Municipal Enrolment Regulations 1947 from the nineteenth until the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
  3. Public notification shall be given on or before the nineteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, that the district electors' list is or will be ready for inspection as aforesaid.
  4. All objections to the district electors' list shall be delivered to the office of the Town Clerk on or before the second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
  5. A list of all such objections shall be open for inspection in the manner provided by Regulation 11 of the Municipal Enrolment Regulations 1947 from the third to the seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
  6. Except as hereinbefore provided, the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Municipal Enrolment Regulations 1947 shall apply to the district electors' list hereby authorized to be made out.

Declaring a Sand-dunes Area at Waikato Heads, Auckland Acclimatization District, to be a Sanctuary

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land in the North Auckland Land District, containing approximately 4,200 acres, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at a point at the south-western corner of Section 353, Waiuku West Parish, and proceeding thence along its south-eastern boundary to a road forming the southern boundary of Lot 3 on D.P. 12202, and along the southern side of that road to the south-western corner of Allotment 210, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 31085), and along its southern boundary, the northern boundary of part Allotment 191, part Allotment 45, part Allotment 44, and part Allotment 43, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 31085), north-eastern boundary of Allotments 42 and 41, Section 2, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 29045), north-western and south-western boundaries of Allotment 38, Suburban Section 2, Waiuku Parish; thence by the latter boundary continued across Allotment 211, Waiuku West Parish, and along the boundary of Allotment 211 to the northern boundary of Allotment 34, Section 2, Waiuku West Parish, and along that boundary continued to the north-western corner of Allotment Part 24, Section 2, Waiuku West Parish, and along the northern boundary of Allotments Part 24 and Part 23, Section 2, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 29067), and the western boundary of Lot 22, Section 2, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 3723), western and southern boundaries of Allotment 212, Waiuku West Parish, south-eastern boundaries of Crown land, and Allotment 26, Settlement of Maioro, Suburban Section 2, Waiuku Parish (S.O. 33611), crossing a public road, to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Allotment 80, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 30579), to a public road; thence by that road and the southern boundary generally of Allotment 189, Waiuku West Parish (S.O. 17307), to the Maioro Stream; thence by the Maioro Stream, the Waikato River, and the sea to the point of commencement.

Declaring Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said land) is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain land acquired under the said Act, and known as the Rosewill Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith: Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, and after considering the report of the Canterbury District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Rosewill Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.
