And whereas the Borough of Sumner has become merged in
the City of Christchurch and it is desirable to make the necessary
provision with respect to the representation of the said district on
the Lyttelton Harbour Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by section thirty-one of the
Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order
and declare that one member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board shall
be elected by the electors of the boroughs of Lyttelton and Akaroa
and the electors of the counties of Akaroa, Wairewa, and Mount
Herbert in lieu of one member by the electors of the boroughs of
Sumner, Lyttelton, and Akaroa and the electors of the counties of
Akaroa, Wairewa, and Mount Herbert.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Isobel Harris, of
Auckland, Widow, and Leslie William Cooper, of Wainui, Gisborne,
Farmer (hereinafter with their successors and assigns referred to
as the licensees), as tenants in common in equal shares, a licence,
subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from
the Wharekopae River (hereinafter referred to as the said stream),
in the Gisborne Land District, for the purposes hereinafter set forth,
a stream of water not exceeding five cubic feet per second at any
one time, and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric
lines hereinafter described.
CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS
The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water-
power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935
shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except
in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof. -
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
This licence is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934,
and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio Interference
Regulations 1934, and to any regulations made or to be made in
amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor. -
UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
The said water shall be used under this licence solely for the
purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of
8 kilowatts, and shall be taken from the said stream at a point
opposite Wharekopae No. IA Block, Block XI, Ngatapa Survey
District, Waikohu County, as indicated on the plan marked P.W.D.
84509, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington. -
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The licensees are hereby authorized, subject to the conditions
herein contained, to construct, maintain, and use the following
works for the purposes of this licence, the position of the said works
being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 84509 :
(a) Headworks consisting of dam and necessary intakes situated
opposite part Wharekopae No. IA Block, Block XI,
Ngatapa Survey District:
(b) Pipe-line leading from head-race to the power-house here-
inafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately
30 ft., also tail-race from the power-house to the said
stream:
(c) Power-house situated in part Lot 2 on D.P. 1128, being
part Wharekopae No. IA Block, Block XI, Ngatapa
Survey District, with all necessary equipment for gen-
erating electricity:
(d) Electric lines leading from the said power-house to the
licensees' wool-sheds situated in Wharekopae No. IB
2 Block, Block VII, Ngatapa Survey District, and
Wharekopae No. IA Block, Block XI, Ngatapa Survey
District, respectively, the said lines being more parti-
cularly shown by means of red lines on the said plan
P.W.D. 84509.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d)
of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall
be direct current. -
DURATION OF LICENCE
Unless sooner determined, this licence shall continue in force
until the 31st day of March, 1952. -
RENTAL
For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect
of this licence, the licensees may install a suitable maximum-demand
indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the State
Hydro-electric Department, and, failing such installation, the rental
shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant
installed. The present plant is rated at 8 kilowatts.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Tauranga Electric-power Board of
the Electric Works of the Borough of Te Puke

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards
Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth,
subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, hereby
authorize the purchase by the Tauranga Electric-power Board
(hereinafter referred to as the Board) of the electric works, the
property of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough
of Te Puke (hereinafter referred to as the Borough), as described
in a certain agreement (hereinafter referred to as the agreement)
bearing date the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-seven, and made between the Board of the one
part and the Borough of the other part, of which agreement a copy
has been deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the
State Hydro-electric Department.
SCHEDULE
The conditions hereinbefore referred to are:-
(1) That the Board shall bind itself that if and when required
by the Governor-General in Council it shall consent to the revocation
of all existing licences and authorities authorizing the Borough to
lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines, pursuant to the
Public Works Act, 1928.
(2) That the terms of such purchase shall be those set forth in
the agreement.
