THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Price Order No. 748 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 748, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 4th day of August, 1947.

  3. The Second and Third Schedules to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 744‡, are hereby revoked, and the following Schedules substituted therefor respectively :—

Election of Member of Hawke's Bay Land Board

Napier, 22nd July, 1947.

I, FRANK RUPERT BURNLEY, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Hawke's Bay Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was Cornelius John O'Reilly, Esquire, of Porangahau, and I do therefore declare that the said Cornelius John O'Reilly is duly elected a member of the Hawke's Bay Land Board for a term of three (3) years as from 26th August, 1947.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licences under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

L. P. L. Jones, Naike, Box 2, Te Kauwhata, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on premises at Naike.

F. Clark, Storekeeper, Turanga-o-moana, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at store premises at Turanga-o-moana.

R. L. A. Tregonning, Main Road, Wingatui, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump already installed outside store premises on Main Road, Wingatui.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 14th August, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Acting-Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942.—Wartime Price Index

Census and Statistics Department,

Wellington, 25th July, 1947.

In accordance with Regulation 41 of the Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942, it is hereby notified that the wartime price index as at the 15th day of June, 1947 (on base : 15th December, 1942 = 1000), was 1027. This figure indicates that, after seasonal adjustment has been made in respect of certain commodities, the prices of which are subject to seasonal movement, the general level of prices of commodities, &c., included in the wartime price index was 2·7 per cent. higher at 15th June, 1947, than at 15th December, 1942.
