Additional Land near Makaraka taken for the Purposes of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway (Gisborne Southwards) and for Road-diversion in connection therewith

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway (Gisborne southwards), and that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road-diversion in connection therewith.

FIRST SCHEDULE For RAILWAY APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken : 1 rood 10 perches. Being part road in Proclamation 230, formerly part No. 1 of Mata-whero B or 5 Block; coloured neutral tint.

SECOND SCHEDULE FOR ROAD-DIVERSION APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken : 24-4 perches. Being part Railway land in Proclamation 230, formerly road ; coloured green. All being situated in Block II, Turanganui Survey District, Cook County. (S.O. 984, blue.) In the Gisborne Land District ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 8895, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 25th day of July, 1947. R. SEMPLE, Minister of Railways.

Allocating Portion of Railway Land at Repongaere for Road Purposes

[L.S.] B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway (Gisborne southwards), and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road : Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section two hundred and twenty-six of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Cook County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 3 roods 25 perches. Being part Railway land in Proclamation 291, and being formerly part of Section 80. Situated in Block III, Patutahi Survey District, Cook County. (S.O. 1129, blue.) In the Gisborne Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 8896, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 25th day of July, 1947. R. SEMPLE, Minister of Railways.

Declaring Portions of Railway Land near Makaraka to be Crown Land

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land :- A. R. P. 0 0 1 Part Railway land in Proclamation 230, being formerly part of Mangamoteo Block ; coloured yellow. 3 1 24 Part Railway land in Proclamation 230, being formerly part of Tutae-o-rewhanga Block ; coloured green. (P.W.D. 34326, Sheet 1.) 0 3 12 Part Railway land in Proclamation 230, being formerly part of Section 23 of Matawhero No. 6 Block ; coloured blue. 2 1 31 Part Railway land in Proclamation 230, being formerly part of Matawhero No. 4 Block ; coloured pink. (P.W.D. 34326, Sheet 2.) Situated in Blocks I and II, Turanganui Survey District, Cook County. In the Gisborne Land District ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked L.O. 8801 and L.O. 8802, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
